    32 channel IP Possibilites

OK. Some questions 1. so if i have 32 cameras, can i even go up to 5MP? 2. Do I need a special type of router? 3. Can you recommend any high quality NVR systems/cameras? 4. Can I run ethernet cable past 300 feet with the power from the PoE or do i need to boost it along the way?

ok thanks ak. Also I should mention the budget is 15k-20k. Can anyone direct me to a good resource where I can gain more knowledge about IP setups, with diagrams and walkthroughs on things like how the network should be laid out?
  4. Hi all. I have been reading on the forum for a while gathering information and have found it very useful. However, up until now I have only done analog systems (mainly geovision), I have no problem setting up everything with those dvrs (such as masking, remote viewing/port forwarding..., pos setup, ptzs). Now I am attempting to do an office complex with 32 cameras for which I need higher resolution than 700tvl, and for this reason I have decided to do an IP NVR setup. I am familiar with the basic concepts however I could use some advice and help before I begin buying things. The plan is to use 32 3MP cameras. For the NVR I am leaning towards geovision just because I have experience with the software, however I am open to suggestions (I know I will have to buy licenses for the cameras if they are not geovision). There are no ptzs, all I would need is good resolution locally, a siren connected to the system that will trigger with motion on a couple of the cameras, as well as remote viewing on all devices. The main concern I have is with bandwidth. Is it even possible to have this many high res cameras on a single network? I will definitely be running the system on a separate parallel network but I'm not sure what type of equipment I will need for this. As far as remote viewing goes the location has fiber optic internet with download speeds of approx 100mb/s and upload of 40mb/s. Thank you in advance for any help to get me started.
