  1. Sorry for my syntax error, i'm sure you got the idea anyway. true, i haven't talked to the customer about this. I'll do as soon as possible. PoE hub, connected to 230v. please, can you give me some examples for these 3g hotspots, and some other ways to get live view from remote sites? the 3G hotspots will require a monthly subscription with the mobile company, right? Thanks again.
  2. Hi everyone, I'm designing a surveillance project, for monitoring some road intersections (same city, but independent systems) and i need some hints. This will run 24/7 with motion detection, and the customer wants a good quality, that's why i chose a HDTV cam. My project is composed like this, for every "recording station": - 1x Camera Axis P1346-E - 1x 32GB SDHC Class 10 - 1x PoE switch (DLink) - 1x WiFi access point (DLink) the idea is to make the camera record 24/7 on the SDHC card, overwriting the oldest data; when needed, an operator can reach the recording station and, with a wifi laptop, he can connect to the camera and check the recordings. the recording time, according to the axis calculator tool, should be around 5 days with 32GB. i just need 48 hours, so this is acceptable. is this possible? do i need a separate NAS/NVR to record the video, or is recording to SDHC an acceptable use? a good NAS/NVR will raise the price of about 500-600€ for each station, so i'd prefer to avoid it. have i forgot something, or do you have better suggestions for this application? thanks in advance for your hints!
  3. hello, this isn't supposed to be a real "surveillance" system. the customer wants to have the possibility, in case of emergency, to download the footage and check what happened. the situation, most likely, will be in case of accident, or vandalism, so they hope this will happen very rarely, not everyday! I already suggested an online solution, but sadly it's out of their budget, so i had to think about something different, and this is the only idea i had.
