Hi All,
Been doing a lot of reading here an elsewhere on IP cameras.
I recently purchased 2 Foscam FI8910W cameras and ended up returning them this week.
My primary complaint was motion blur on the pictures it took. Didnt matter if it was daytime or night time. Would be pretty tough to identify an intruder with that poor quality a picture.
So im back in the hunt for something better. I have been considering cameras from AVTech, ACTi and Y-Cam and have looked at others as well.
The ACTi ACM-8511N looks to have all the features i want, but the price is more than i want to spend and some of the comments i have read weren't that positive.
I was hoping to find a PTZ camera with IR, but the more i have read, the more frustrated i have become.
The AVTech and Y-Cam seem to be the only cameras in my price range (along with all the Foscam knockoffs), but the AVN80X doesnt offer IR or PTZ and the Y-Cam seems to be on par with the quality of the Foscams and doesnt have PTZ.
If i go with the AVN80X, it was suggested i leave a light on in each room to help with the low light images. How much could i expect to spend on an external IR light and would it be worth having?
So now im rethinking my need for PTZ and just going with the AVN80X. I had hoped to be able to utilize the PTZ to look out a sliding glass door at our back yard during the day. Not a must have and i guess down the road, i can get an outdoor bullet or dome cam for that purpose.
Is this one of those situations where you have 3 criteria Low Price, Quality and Features and you can only pick 2?
Any other recommendations are appreciated.
