    Digifort--Does anyone use it?

Guess that is what happens when someone doesn't provide enough details to narrow down their requirements.

    Digifort--Does anyone use it?

What is their pricing like? It depends on the vendor but here was my pricing from 6.x Professional: * Base price (including 8 cameras): $1,732 * 8 Camera Add-on: $1148 7.0 requires a new license and I'm unsure of the upgrade pricing. Of course you can download and test their system for 30 days.
  3. I second that. 7.0 rocks the monkey!

    Digifort--Does anyone use it?

I've used Digifort for about 2 years and with the new 7.0 release, it is very, very good. It does just about everything I could ask. I don't use the LPR and analytics module though because it is a bit too expensive for a home system. I'm running 7.0 on a VMware server along with a PBX and a few other servers. 19 cameras all 2 to 3MP. I really think Digifort is a under-appreciated system. Thanks, David
  5. I can understand a few but not all of these commands. Is this pretty much the same process that is used by CBX? Does anyone know what it costs to have CBX do a camera conversion? Thanks, David
  6. Nicely put there stroonzo! Simple and too the point. All we need now is an infographic for it.
  7. Chops - Oh, if it were just that simple. I'm not a professional installer but these are questions a homeowner would ask, not someone starting a business installing camera systems. I'd recommend installing your own camera system and camera systems for some friends for free to get up to speed and understand the issues involved on a per-project basis. I can't imagine that any realistic "flat rate" price could be applied to cameras when the installer has no up-front knowledge of the buildings these are going in, let alone the customer requirements. Having installed a few Amazon purcahsed Foscam's makes not a security installer.

    RTSP to JPG client?

I have a need to output a JPG file, via FTP, to an intranet site in a specific format and directory OR make the JPG avaiaible via HTTP (download.) The problem is that the cameras (Dahua) can't seem to do that (weird directory structure, unable to change it) and the NVR solution can't siphon off frames into JPG files either - only a ActiveX based web interface. The little Dahua trick of pulling the snaps from the camera also doesn't work with the newest firmware. So, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a tool that can take an RTSP stream (either from the camera or the NVR) and then "transform" it into either a snap shot saved off into a directory (it doesn't have to FTP it) OR if it can present the JPG as a download via a HTTP interface. Anyone? Thanks, David
  10. Any information you can provide here would be greatly appreciated! After upgrading, the camera is no longer visable on our weather underground page. Thanks, David
  11. Flashed two of my 3200c cameras to start with from the 7-24-12 release and they worked fine. Hopefully I won't brick any like I did last time with the 7-24 release. Thanks for posting the firmware! Suck it Dahua!

    Dahua IPC-HDB3200C auto exposure setting

You totally rock! Thanks for posting it. This is the same exact firmware that is shipping on cameras that I received in February 2013 (2.103.0000.0.R.20120724). Updated current cameras without loss of exisiting settings.
  13. I had a very extreme angle on one of two of my 3200's and I just pulled off that "eye lid", trimmed it with some side cutters - problem fixed. I'm not sure why the limit the extent of the rotation becuase the wires are long enough inside the "eye ball".
  14. Really? I use Digifort and Dahua 2MP cameras but can't use Hardware Motion Detection - only software. Can you provide more informaiton?
  15. I use Digifort with 14, 2mp Dahua cameras (and some others) and love it. Very rich application and very stable.
  16. My Dahua 2MP domes have removeable pigtails.

    Dahua PTZ sample pics

For under $1000 USD (excluding shipping) you can get a full 2MP, Dahua SD6982A-HN. Here I am pulling plates at about 275ft away, on the top of a building, off angle with moving cars (30-45mph) during the day and in complete darkness: Full out from where it is located on the top of a building: Sample daytime plate:
  19. I made some videos on youtube of the Dahua IPC-HDB3200CN cameras that I used on my house (12 of them). Thought these might help someone else...Please note...I'm not an expert. Unboxing: Web interface: Thanks, David
  20. Are you able to install lighting outside?

    Sub $200 IP Camera

I have quite a bit of experience with non-weather proof RJ45 connections used in outdoors locations. The best solution I've found yet is to just spray the connection with CorrosionX: http://www.corrosionx.com/corrosionx.html Short of leaving the cables in standing water, this works excellent.
  22. You are not kidding - someone is selling it on amazon for below cost.
  23. I'm using DigiFort which supports them directly. Also, if anyone is in Houston, TX and needs some of these Dahua 3200's I have a bunch of extras (cash only) as I placed an order for 40 more than I needed for our project to get the cost down. HDB or HFW3200C ? Dome or Bullet? I might be interested if I can't get mine up and running... http://www.dahuasecurity.com/English/product_info.aspx?type=339&&css=0&&id=8 - DH-IPC-HDB3200CN Dome. Looking to just unload these extras that I didn't need.
  24. Usually you can expect to pay about $1-3 pound for air fright out of china to the US.
  25. I've got these in two of my cars and they work great - usually about $65-$85 without CD cards. Note that you'll need two SD cards for front and rear recording: http://dx.com/p/dual-lens-wide-angle-car-dvr-camcorder-w-ir-night-vision-tf-2-0-tft-107891
