  1. It has been raining, so I have not had a chance to mount it outside. Currently have in the game room until weather permits. That little window is where a single IR LED is located
  2. I looking into getting the new Axis P3364-LVE to replace an ACTI camera overlooking the driveway. There are 2 versions of the Axis camera. The 6mm & the 12mm, I was trying to decide which one to use to aim at the scene below. Which version would best cover the below scene? Camera will be mounted about 13feet high The width of the concrete drive is about 17feet (orange line) The driveway length to the edge of the road is about 38feet (red line) road width 27feet (blue line) Width ~67feet (green Line)
  3. I have to say, I love this camera. It has very low noise in low light. And of course you can not deny having night shots in color with very low picture noise is undeniably the greatest plus. Lightfinder is definately some great technology. I do have a motion light on the bottom left hand corner of the picture. Nearby, on the far top right hand corner, there is street light. I have even turned off my external IR & as you can see the picture looks great. Below, I have attached a shot from the previous Acti camera The next thing I need to do is set the camera to record locally on a 32Gig SD card, when my 16 Channel Dahua NVR is unreachable. Later at the end of the year or when they are released, I will wait to see how the Acti E84, E86 or PS5 series camera compare My one wish is that Axis produce a similar camera camera that can do 2MP/1080p & also a 9mm version
  4. I got the 12mm version. I had to adjust the camera to its widest angle. Below is my 1st night shot.
  5. I previously used camera motion detection & got several hundred emails on a daily basis on my Gmail account. After switching to PIR motion detection, that pretty much solved my problem.
  6. Unit should be here late next week, will post samples then
  7. Kawboy12R you may be right, after looking at some sample videos of the P3364-VE (since these would be the closest to the IR versions) for both the 6 & 12mm lens, I would be better off getting the 12mm. Luckly, the unit had not shipped & my supplier changed my order from the 6 to the 12mm.
  8. Korgoth .....that was a very good explanation

    Dahua stream

For image capture try .... http://192.168.1.100:9988/onvif/media_service/snapshot
  10. I currently have a 16 channel dahua NVR & is on the hunt for an NVR that that has the following specs - can support 8/9 1080p IP cameras at 30fps - Has at least 5 alarm inputs & 5 outputs ports I have come across the Nuuo NVR mini2 & solo units Do the Nuuo units support 8 cameras at 1080p @ 30fps for H264 video? For cameras listed as having 1 video channel by Nuuo, on their supported camera list, does this mean that when viewing the camera stream remotely, only the high resolution stream is sent to the viewer? I saw somewhere, but I could be wrong, that remote viewing bandwidth can be trimmed/adjusted to a set bandwidth, say 300k, is this true? Which would be great for low upload speed DSL/Cable circuits. If the above is correct, does this mean that the Nuuo unit reduces the resolution/bandwidth of the camera that is listed as having 1 channel to fit the set bandwidth for remote viewing? Do you have to purchase licenses for each camera after purchasing the Nuuo units I looked at the list of suported cameras & do not see Dahua IPC-HDB3200C, IPC-HFW3200S or the IPC-HFW2100. Does anyone have these cameras working on a Nuuo mini2 or solo units? Since I do not see any Alarm input & output ports, how can these be intergrated with the Nuuo units?

    NVR search

Model number or link to the said NVR?
  13. My sentiment exactly, I would have prefered it in a dome version. The TCM -7811 is an exellent choise. You can add the Axis P3364-LVE to your list, once it is released. My ideal NVR would be one that can handle at least 8 IP cameras at 1080p, but I have yet to come across one yet.
  14. This is the first desktop NVR that I have seen that can do 240fps @ 1080p. The 60fps playback seems a bit on the low end. The NVR price is ridiculous.
  15. I did my IP camera install this past weekend. But my Acti TCM-7811 PQ is not the best. Day time pics are so so & night time pic are completely snowy. I have been playing around with the settings but need help from the experts. What settings to I need to enable/disbale to get a decent PQ??
  16. I prefer & use Cisco enterprise class of switches. The Granularity of a fully managed switch is unbeatable. The 8 port WS-C3560-8PC model has 124Watt available, running each port at 15.4Watts. You can even hardcode the power rating per port to as shown below CCTV-Switch(config)#interface FastEthernet0/2 CCTV-Switch(config-if)#power inline consumption ? <4000-15400> milli-watts CCTV-Switch#show power inline Available:124.0(w) Used:92.4(w) Remaining:31.6(w) Interface Admin Oper Power Device Class Max (Watts) --------- ------ ---------- ------- ------------------- ----- ---- Fa0/1 auto on 15.4 Ieee PD 0 15.4 Fa0/2 static off 15.4 n/a n/a 15.4 Fa0/3 auto on 15.4 Ieee PD 0 15.4 Fa0/4 auto on 15.4 Ieee PD 0 15.4 Fa0/5 static off 15.4 n/a n/a 15.4 Fa0/6 auto on 15.4 Ieee PD 3 15.4 Fa0/7 auto off 0.0 n/a n/a 15.4 Fa0/8 auto off 0.0 n/a n/a 15.4 CCTV-Switch#
  17. I would like my NVR (Dahua NVR 16) to notify me when the cameras detect motion. Two IP cameras will be mounted in the front & another 2 in the back of the house. I would like to use 2 LEDs or lights, say 1 green to represent the front 2 cameras & 1 red LED for cameras in the back. I would like either the red or green LED/light to light up when either the front or the back set of cameras detected motion. Is this possible?
  18. Motion lights in combination with IR lights is a very good mix. I too use the same Okeba IR lights. I first tried the 15 LED light & got overexposed pictures. I ended up switching to the 8 LED version. You will have to find a good spot to mount the lights. If you are not a fan of the white casing, you could also paint it. Overall you will like the IR lights at that price point.
  19. Multiple emails per motion detection incident is normal with Dahua cameras. I was getting one too many emails, at times averaging 50+ per day at times. I have turned off email notification. I have since purchased PIR motion detection units, but need time to run cables for this. I think this will yield better motion detection than the 'overly' sensitive camera based detection & more relevant emails notification.
  20. I am not happy with this camera, and I have spent a lot of time going up & down the ladder working on this. I even ordered some IR illuminators which should be delivered in a few days. But, as per buellwinkle's post adding IR did not make much of a difference to his 7811 setup. viewtopic.php?p=197284#p197284
  21. I have refocused the camera & here is a nighttime shot. Still need to adjust night settings
  22. I spent some time refocusing the camera & will look at tonights nighttime shots. I also had to upgrade the firmware before the camera started dumping video to the Dahua ESDV-NVR-16 NVR. I have to admit the KCM-5611 has a really good night shot. But I have been avoiding box cameras, & would have really liked a dome camera with the same/similar specs like the KCM-5611. @buellwinkle on the KCM-5611, focusing the camera is done via GUI & not physically on the camera unit. Is that correct? @wxthomson - I understand where you are coming from, I too was expecting a lot from this camera. I will see how it goes while I fine tune it for the next couple of days
  23. I just got my RMA camera from ACTi. It came with firmware A1D-310-V4.12.02-AC. I got home late & simply mounted the camera. Unfortunately I see the all too familiar snowy picture. . I have also replaced the Netgear GS110TP switch with a Cisco Catalyst WS-C3560-8PC. A couple IR illuminators are also on order & should be arriving in a few days I still need to aim & focus the camera correctly. Will do this tomorrow

    switch thoughts

I like Cisco catalyst switches, I replaced my Netgear GS110TP with a Cisco Catalyst WS-C3560-8PC. It is a top notch, full managed switch & yes pricey. @whrzmud - To be fair, you are referring to Linksys-Cisco switches & not the Cisco catalyst switches
