I bought my NVR and cameras few years back and I would like to upgrade my camera's but all the new ones use .265. I would like to update my closed system nvr to record in 265 for all my cameras to save on space(even old ones if thats possible??) I have 2 new camera's that are 265 but yet to install them, I will be ordering myself 4 more varifocal 265 cameras soon but I want to know if its possible to update my nvr to record in 265. Half my cameras will be 265 and the other half are older 264..... What are my options here?? Thanks!

Updating DS-7732 NI-SP from .264 to .265???
300winmag replied to 300winmag's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Components are missing from the NVR just to upgrade the codec? I figured it would just ba a software upgrade like it would be on a computer.... If I can upgrade it to 265 I should still have the ability to tell the NVR to record in 264 or 265 for each camera... At least that what I read about the new nvr's. -
Help!!! record time on Hikvision DS-7732-NI-SP
300winmag posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
For the life of me I can't figure out why I am only getting 4 days of recording time from my NVR when it used to be 2 weeks. I have 6TB and 14 two/three mega pixel camera's that record 24/7. Now when I had 9 camera's I got 2 weeks recording time but I added 5 more camera's and it brought it down to 4 days.?.?.? I checked everything I could think of including error tests and all but because It's a closed system Nellys can't do much without looking at it. Can someone suggest something I can do please? -

Help!!! record time on Hikvision DS-7732-NI-SP
300winmag replied to 300winmag's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I unhooked a single HDD and looked to see how much time it had saved on it and did the same to the other HDD and they both have around the same amount of time on each HDD. Now I don't know how cloning works so maybe it does not copy one exact HDD to the other instead copying from both HDD's and creating a exact image on the other HDD's. But maybe it isn't the clone option... what other settings could cause me to lose half of my recording time? -
Help!!! record time on Hikvision DS-7732-NI-SP

So i did the factory reset hoping it would change all the settings back to normal however when it restarted all the camera's had the same settings so one could only assume that no other HDD settings changed either... idea's?? -
Help!!! record time on Hikvision DS-7732-NI-SP
300winmag replied to 300winmag's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I set all camera's at 4mb and now have 5 days of recording time. I have a suspicion that one HDD is being cloned and that is why I am getting half of what I am supposed to but the menu does not tell me if I am using the clone option or not and does not have any information to show if it is or isn't. I just find it odd that it is exactly half of what I am supposed to be getting... Sound familiar to anyone? -
Hikvision DS-7716NI-SP Framerate for all camera's?
300winmag posted a topic in Digital Video Recorders
I am looking at getting the Hikvision DS-7716NI-SP but I can't find out what the max fps is I can have per camera. Under Hikvisions website it states "PoE Interface - 16 independent 100 Mbps PoE network interfaces, Max Power In total: 200W. All PoE ports comply with 802.3at (<30W) and 802.3af (<15W". Now if 1080p is 8mbps and 3MP is 11mbps why would they give 100mbps per channel on all 16 channels? What am I missing? At best I would have a couple 3MP camera's at 15 or 20 fps and eight 1080p camera's running at 30fps, I would like to know if it can handle this and more if I decide to upgrade. Oh and this will not be streaming, no online access. Another question, I have 2 monitors from my previous system but all the NVR's I've seen only have one HDMI out, How can I do it so I can see 4 to 6 camera's on each screen? Thanks for any help! -
Front Door Cameras

I use a 2.8mm as well, not the greatest as i need it high enough for someone not to hit it but low enough for a lucky face rec shot. As for viewing on your tv i hooked a 50' VGA cable from my Hikvision DS-7731NI-SP in the basement up through the ceiling downstairs to the living room upstairs and plugged it into the PC port on the back of my Samsung tv. Now when I want to watch the cameras I hit the source button on the tv remote till I get "PC" and bam there I go. Now if you want to be lazy like me and not go down stairs every time you want to play with your camera's I would also install a 50' USB cable with a repeater built in (cheap on amazon) and run that beside your VGA cable and now you can hook up a wireless mouse beside your tv and control your NVR in the comfort of your favorite couch! Good luck! -

I would like a UPS to keep my system recording for at least a few hours after the power goes out, (hopefully longer)I was thinking of getting a CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD but I have no idea how long it will last for. I know my camera's use 5 watts each but the NVR I have no idea, I tried looking it up and all I see is wattage numbers for this that and the other thing.... I'm Lost. My system consists of a Hikvision DS-7732-NI-SP with 2 3TB HDD, Six DS-2CD2732-IS camera's and four more DS-2CD2132-I camera's. What would you recommend to get?

I did the 4 camera AvertX thing for my house and returned them. They did not specify what the fps is, for me I wanted 30fps. They are actually 15 fps.... I had to contact them directly to get that info oddly enough. The software on the NVR is better then Q-see but still much to be desired. The digital vari focal camera's were great! I now have a 200MB 32 channel Hikvision DS-7732NI-SP running 6 of the DS-2CD2732F-IS camera's and 4 of the DS-2CD2132-I camera's. I could not be happier with this system. The NVR is easy to use and lets you customize just about everything.... except getting a ""hallway view" can't do that one. You should seriously look into this option before spending that much money. Either way you go, Good Luck!

Costco AvertX or Q-See packages?
300winmag replied to iceman650's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I have had both and returned both. The Avertx cameras (Motorized Varifocal) are really nice but the NVR only does 15fps. If you can stand the stop and go motion then it is a decent system. EDIT: User interface on the AvertX NVR is much better then the Q-See as well. Hope this helps! -
HikVision DS-2CD2032-I: Increasing Sensivity To Night/Day?
300winmag replied to PeteCress's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
They are 200 watt equivalent, 2600 lumens each. Monster size CFL's, they JUST fit into the light housing lol. I could try them LED ones but that's $100 for 4... I will ask what the return policy is on them just to be sure. -
Dahua NVR vs Hikvison NVR with Hikvision Cameras
300winmag replied to Livermore-Dad's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I have the Hik 7732 and six Hik 2732's. All in all amazing, much better then the Avertx and Q-see systems I tried first. All the settings are maxed out, record 24/7 and other then low light performance I have zero issues. -
HikVision DS-2CD2032-I: Increasing Sensivity To Night/Day?
300winmag replied to PeteCress's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I will try but I don't think it will be enough light. I have 5000 lumens from 2 CFL bulbs on my 20x30 driveway and its not enough. They need to have a reflector behind them directing the light instead of wasting it all over the place. I think you are right about washing out the faces... but I have to try to make sure. Maybe I will get 2 spots and 2 floods instead.... Hmmm i think the floods might annoy my neighbors though... we will see. -
HikVision DS-2CD2032-I: Increasing Sensivity To Night/Day?
300winmag replied to PeteCress's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I gave up and now all my lights are on a timer, so they stay on all night and off during the day. My camera's are set to "day" 24/7. I am upgrading to 4 par38 spots as these Hikvision 2732 camera's need a crazy amount of light to get a decent picture of a face. -
Help with changing the IP address on Q-see camera.
300winmag posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Current system is a Hikvision 7732NI-SP NVR with six Hikvision DS-2CD2732F-IS camera's but.... I need a few more cameras I bought two Q-see QCN8012B cameras but I am assuming I have to change the IP addy seeings how they don't work on the NVR, So I hooked the cameras and computer to the PoE injector but nothing comes up. I would have thought the cameras would have software built into them for plug and play on PC.?.?.? I went to Q-see's site but remote viewing isn't what I am after and the camera's didn't come with any software. Can someone shed some light on how I can make these camera's work please. -

I previously tried to do the PoE to PC with no luck, nothing comes up software wise. I didn't even think about using dahuas tools... I will give that a shot. Good tip about mixing cameras, I will keep an eye on it. Thanks a bunch! EDIT: I am on Windows 64 which one am I supposed to use to change the ip? There are a gazillion of them and I have not a clue which one is which -

Hikvision DS-7716NI-SP Framerate for all camera's?
300winmag replied to 300winmag's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Thats a nice chart, been researching for a long time and never seen that before. Very helpful! I am going to order the 32 channel from nellys as soon as they confirm which brand of hard drives they are going to put in it. I've heard from several people that at 3mp you cant tell the difference between 11mbps and 4 or 5mbps. Most say its a waste to go higher. Wouldn't it be ideal for being able to digitally zoom in closer? it seems im the only one who thinks its a good idea lol -

Exactly what I wanted to hear! Thanx MIB! my current pos nvr only lets me get 8mbps max on 3mp. should it not be 11mbps? The system even came with 3mp camera's. -
Hikvision DS-7716NI-SP Framerate for all camera's?

No I mean The way I see it I have the room to upgrade if I ever want to, like to 5mp cameras or put a camera in the garage. 100mbps is doable but no room to expand. -

Just got word that the 16 channel's new firmware update allows 100mbps and the 32 gets 200mbps. Now what would the bonus to getting rhe 32 over the 16? Im not going to have 16 cameras, only 9 to 12 but 200mbps allows me to max out all my cameras.... somebody talk me out of it please....
