  1. We're contemplating linking our customers NVR to his router (conveniently located by his HD tv for HDMI input), setting up a wireless bridge with a range extender (we have found a really good, value for money one), to link to a wireless 8 channel (4 channel POE) in their loft, allowing us to hardwire the four cams (with POE power) from that switch. Where we are a little green , is that we are unsure if that the (wireless) connection could cope with (at least) a D1 setting across the four cams. We can vary the frame rate/resoultion accordingly (we intend to experiment) but would greatly welcome anyone who can offer any information/advice/data transfer calculators (eg. Mbps Vs 4 x IP cam resolution) relating to this particular setup. The NVR has a 1.3MP/720/D1/CIF setting for each camera (1.3MP cams) and of course a frame rate setting. This type of setup allows for minimal cabling (especially in a residential environment), so we are eager to explore the possibilities of it. Any information regarding this would be warmly welcomed.
  2. We are finding that more and more of our customers are asking for IP based NVR systems. We do have network experience but we have joined cctvforum.com in order to learn & exchange ideas with other installers that are currently selling or installing this technology. We feel that current cctv technology is (as always) is moving at a faster rate than it can be marketed/installed and that information, experience and forward thinking are the key to success in an ever changing market environment. We look forward to actively participating in this forum. Many Thanks, Darren@raptor-cctv
