Geo vs DVR's on live view

I haven't tried your suggestions yet, but I read in the internet, that the effect we have on our screen might be "tearing". I wonder why I have horizontal tearing at the crt screen and diagonal tearing at the TFT screen. what do you think?

Geo vs DVR's on live view

sounds interesting. we don't use h.264, we use MPEG 4 ASP. Does ASP encode it diagonally, too? I will try MPEG4 and see, if it'll change. we tried on different PCs: single core, dual core etc. (all intel) - the same problem but only with high speed domes with high speed! nobody have experienced these type of problems? we use also low speed domes - there we don't have any problems I'll try to change the codec and let you know...

Geo vs DVR's on live view

hi tpolus, well, thats not very comfortable, if I have to control the DSP-Output via the GV-Main screen. I knew that from the combocard, but I hoped, it'll be different for the Multi-Quad. One reason, why I asked all this is the following: ee have live picture problems by using high-speed domes. Our configuration: - gv 1240-8 - 8.02 gv software - brand new dual core dell pc´s, 2 gb memory - high speed domes of panasonic, or eneo or others using pelco protocoll or samsung protocoll Now the problem: If we move the dome very quickly (rotating quickly), than we get a divided screen, that means a diagonally in the middle of the screen arranged line. It disappears, if we rotate the dome only slowly. We have this problem with every dome and every PC. Is it a codec Problem? We don’t have the problem with a monitor connected at the dsp output. But we want to use the “normalâ€

Geo vs DVR's on live view

hi tpolus, that sounds good to me. I have 2 questions on that topic: 1) We don't want to use 2 screens: is it possible to use a cctv flat screen with BNC and VGA Input to connect the MultiQuad-Card to the BNC (for live-view) and the VGA to the GV-Card for recording and then to switch at the screen between live-modus (BNC) and recording modus (VGA)? 2) Very important: how do you control the live-screen via MultiQuad-Card? For example, I want to change between 16-picture screen to 1-picture screen?

Geo vs DVR's on live view

hi rory, why should these new hardware related cards result in a better quality live screen? Do you have any details? We use always new PCs, actually Core2Duo. Do you still suppose, that these cards result in better quality? And why doesn't they exist for 16 channels?

Geo vs DVR's on live view

well, I read the topics and I found it very interesting, many of our clients say about the live screen quality: poor quality - and they are right but, what about the future: IP cameras? with them, you can't than use a combination of multiplexer for example and digital videosystem, because the live picture will be already compressed. So for my understanding, it can't be "the future" to combine a new geovision system with old BNC multiplexter technique. Is there no way to get a better live picture out of the GV-System? What about the DVI-Combo cards? or the PCI-Express Cards: do theey produce a better picture??? it is not nice...
  7. Hi, would like to establish a WLAN IP surveillance system with IP cameras, but our client use "normal" digital recorders with BNC video input. How can I transform the videosignals from one WLAN Router to 16 BNC inputs of this recorder? Thanks for help.

POS connection WITHOUT POS Capture Box

hello, we would like to receive the cash data of 7 cash registers from one central cash desk as a rs232 stream with the data of all 7 cash register. We don't want to install capture boxes. To get a solution, we would like to evaluate the data stream. then we will send these as simulated pos module to the video computer (tcp?). unfortunately we do not understand the data communication between capture pos module and server. Does somebody know to describe this? does somebody has written a software, which makes the connection possible without capture box and of multiple POS? Thanks a lot in advance!!!

POS connection WITHOUT POS Capture Box

hi, Many cash registers in big shops send their POS data to one single "POS Server". What we try is: Instead of using POS Capture Boxes at every single cash register, we would like to get the data of all cash registers by connecting only to the one single POS Server. I would like to connect this POS Server to the GV system. So I don't have to run cables through the store but only from the POS server to the GV-PC. The problem is. I receive the data of different POS and I want to distribute it at the GV-PC to the different video channels and to the database. How can I do that.
  10. Hello, we have a problem with the text of POS, displayed on the screen. We use Software 8.01 and GV 1480-16 Combocard with a new Dell P4 3.0 GHz. Now we need to show the text in the video but not on the live screen. The problem: Also I clicked on the field: show in viedo but I didn’t cklicked at show on live screen, it always shows the text also on the live screen. We didn’t have that problem with 7.05. Does anybody have the same problem and maybe a solution? Thanks in advance.

POS text displayed in video but not on live screen

Hello to all! Well, unfortunately, nobody answered the post... So I'll try again... I would like to show the POS text on the playback but not on the live video. Does anybody has an idea or experience with that? I use the 8.01 software. It worked with the 7.05 version but not with 8.01. How do I have to configure the Geo software? Thanks a lot!!! Cheers!

    View Log problem

Hello, we have a problem with 8.00 and 8.01. If we playback video files with view log, sometimes, not every time, the videos stops and the time down left in the corner stops also, but starts to flicker +/- a tenth part second. If I start again the video file, than it jumps from file to file till the end of the day, if we put the setting on “playing the next videofile automaticallyâ€

hi, I asked Geovision support and they said that there's a driver conflict which is triggered by the audio driver. They asked me to disabled the sound, so I clicked on the sound off button and - miracle - no more problems any more. Happiness.... thanks to all who answered my post. see you

    View Log problem

Hello! I'm happy to find someone who made the same experiences! Well, I have the problem also with the 8.01 version, but I had the 8.00 version on that PC before. What I guess is, that we upgraded it without erasing before all the old files of the 8.00 version. May that a possible reason??? Do you think that is the problem? Could you tell me, how to upgrade from 8.00 to 8.01 without having old data or files from the old version on the PC? Thanks a lot in advance? Please let me know, if the problem occurs at your version 8.01 ones in the future.
