Has anyone evaluated the Grandstream Model #: GXV3651_FHD (5MP) Camera? If so, we would surely love to hear your comments/opinions on this camera. If you have some Day and/or Night stills please Post them. Thanks, Den

Have been looking at both the Tamron and Fujinon lenses here for a MegaPixel camera. Specifically want: Manual IRIS, Focus, Zoom Varifocal 2.8-8mm CS Mount Aspherical MegaPixel and IR The Fujinon can be bought for around $65 or so, where the Tamron is around $100. Does anyone have experience with these two Mfg's. MegaPixel lenses, and can tell me which way to go here and why? Or is there another Mfg. that fits this bill and is $100 or less? Appreciate the help in selecting a new lens. Thanks, Den

You will be in "Chromatic Aberration" BIG trouble with that design -- Buellwinkle " title="Applause" /> Isn't that where the Chinese camera Mfg's. started?

I would take a look at some of the bullet IP66 rated cams like the Dahua 1.3MP -- they have that camera running in Blue Iris software also. What software do you plan on using, and I would HIGHLY suggest you wire for CAT6 and either go w/ PoE or wire for AC or DC power also, besides the CAT6 runs to each and every camera for reliability and higher frame rates. Tried the 2MP dome... it's not that great with the low light. But then, that's a $200 camera vs. $1000+ cameras Half that, half gas stations... I'd rather they gave me free gas, it's worth more Hi Matt, I thought your were experimenting with the Dahua 3MP cam there at $399 + lens? Any pics using that camera? Thanks, Den

Am just wondering why Grandstream is not a serious contender in the IP Camera business up against Arecont Vision, AXIS, Vivotek, ACTi, etc. who seem to have a large segment of the industry? Does anyone know why this is? -- Den --

MaxIcon, can you POST some day/night stills off that Arecont Vision 5MP camera. Thanks, Den I should be able to in a few days. It's not connected right now, but I can pop a lens on it and get some shots. Max, pop a lens on that puppy, and crank up the fps and data xfer rate to max w/ 5MP and see what it can do, then POST a couple pics. Cheers, Den

Ken, shows the Grandstream GXV36XX RTSP being supported in B.I. Using H.264 compression, hoping to get 15fps at 1920x1080 (HD 1080p), but specs show 30fps at this max. video resolution. Specs state it has a High Performance Streaming server to allow for up to 3 Simultaneous 1080p viewers. I guess we will see if we end up trying one out. My CPU util. is at around 35% right now w/ the i7 Intel CPU w/ 7 cams running, so I should have enough headroom. Den

One site had this camera being the Grandstream GXV3651_FHD for $283, good price for a 5MP. Your right that full HD res. 16:9 would be 2MP (1920h x 1080v = 1080p), but the pixels would be there for one when one wants to digitally zoom in, right? BI is showing support for it also.

Grandstream GXV-3651_FHD (5MP Camera) -- We are looking at this camera to mount in an IP66 Outdoor housing w/Htr. and Fan, and wire it up with CAT6 cable, and use Blue Iris software on a PC. Anyone have any experience w/ Grandstream cameras, and in particular this Model camera? Looks very reasonable at less than $300 w/ Manual Iris 4.5-10mm lens. Thanks Guys. Den

Matt, Forget contacting Agasio sister of Foscam... they are totally useless and have NO Parts, and also have NO idea what their cameras are as they just want to sale them, and run from any problems or at best ship out another one when you ship yours back. Technically they are TOTALLY USELESS, and like from another Planet... they are so bad, they would not know an inch from a mm. let alone the nm. wavelength of the IR Leds, you get the pt. God forbid don't ask them about Voltage (EMF) or Current (Amperes) dq/dt, they are really LOST. Yes, your right on, no AutoIris on this camera, and I know it is 1/3" CS Mount, your right on. Soundy, Excellent technical writeup on the hows and why a MegaPixel lens would make a difference to get rid of the "Softness" in the image. I will take a look around and see if I can find a 4mm/F1.2/IR MP lens that will fit from a dimensional perspective. These cheaper cameras from China all have lenses that are of not a high quality, as I am sure you know. Maybe a lens that costs $60 to $80 and is MegaPixel would make a big difference. If you or any one else has any suggestions on a Mfg./Model No. and a Web Site where to purchase them for a CS Mount Agasio A632W MegaPixel IP Camera that would be very helpful. Thanks again. Den

Matt, I bought a nice Tamron lens for it, but it was a shade to large in diameter to fit through the IR Led bd. I have a 4mm High Resolution lens, maybe I should try that one as well, but the F = 1.4 vs. F1.2 in the cam now so will be getting less light through the aperature, right? What is the real technical difference of a large aperature lens vs. a High Resolution lens? What makes a lens a High Resolution lens vs. a Standard Resolution lens? As you can tell, a newbie here. Here are a couple daytime stills of my AGASIO A632W camera with the garage door open during daytime with 4mm, F1.2, IR, CS Mount, Large Aperature Lens at 1280h x 720v. A $200 Camera with a $12 lens. Camera running in Wireless Mode, and the fence is 105 feet away from camera in top still, and far garage wall is 36 feet away from camera in bottom still. Comments. Thanks, Den
