  1. David, great input, thank you! The suggested SuperPassword was tried, worked as promised generating however the alpha-numeric patterns only, while my password seems to be strictly numeric suggesting the front panel keypad use according to its input screen, see picture. The DVR recognizes USB mouse attached but not USB keyboard. My guess about the brand: this is Edac Security Inc, US--Nigeria company. Their website lists a phone, a fax, and an email, neither answers though... Any additional thoughts are welcome, running out of ideas. Thanks!
  2. If I am missing any similar issue that has been posted already please point me to it. Also the DVR constantly beeps asking for a "check fan in dvr", you can see it in attached pictures. The fan's on-board pinout is weird, it doesn't fit the regular fans of that size and connector shape: three pins with a ground in the middle, +12.0V and +3.6V on the sides. I tried switching 0 and 12V leaving 3.6V intact for my regular fan, it starts running, but the "check fan in dvr" message didn't go away. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you.
  3. Hi, I've got hold of a second hand 16Ch DVR for CCTV cameras. Cannot access the menus as it has a password on it. The unit has no brand written anywhere on the case, but the external power cord for 12V 150W has Edac EDACPOWER ELEC written on it. Here is some info I've got from the DVR: Black/silver front and silver case 16 Channels with loop outs 4 Sound Channels DVD-RW 2TB HDD (4x500GB IDE Seagate) The main PCB has DNV 1107 Rev: 0.7 (2006/11/13) written on it The internal power supply PCB has DNV 5105 Rev: 0.5 (2006/08/30) On the main board there are several TechWell chips and one Actel chip, it doesn't look like a computer motherboard at all. Cant find any jumper pins on the PCB, its quite a small board for the size of the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are some pictures also. Thank you!!
