I too am curious as to what state the OP lives in. This is ridiculous. The perv next door has made his motivation quite clear. He is intentionally invading the privacy of the OP and taking pictures for his own sexual gratification. If the daughter is under age, then the neighbor should be jailed. I have to wonder what kind of wife the neighbor has that is okay with all of this. That said, here is what I would do. I would blind the camera with a laser. If it didn't destroy it, I would mount one permanently aimed into the lens to keep it blinded. I wouldn't bother to hide it either, just make sure it didn't go into the sky where some airplane could be hit by it. I would then write a letter describing this whole story and confront the neighbor by threatening to hand it out to the entire neighborhood if he doesn't stop. If that didn't work, I would hand it out to them. Then I would contact the local news and encourage them to do a story on it. Given the trivial things that end up on the news in Houston, I can't imagine them not taking the opportunity to stir some folks up with how the law is allowing this perv to get his kicks this way. After all that, I think that I'd simply catch him one on one and threaten to clean his clock if he didn't stop. At that point, the PD is not going to listen to him without some kind of proof that he was threatened.

I'm trying to pick a new system. My old system is a LTD2304-HE and it's time for an upgrade to newer technology. I'd like to leverage my existing cams and wiring while I slowly upgrade to more and better cams. Is there some kind of comparison chart to compare all the models of LTS equipment. For example, I'm looking at an LTD8316T-FA ($339) and an LTD8316T-FT ($299) and I don't immediately spot the difference. I also see 8 channel systems that are also in the $300 range, what gives? I want the best bang for the buck that I can get for approximately $300. On a side note would you go with TVI or CVI on the upgrade? I know that NVR is really the best way to go, but I can't afford a complete change out and the current HD analog tech will still impress me compared to the NTSC stuff that I'm currently using. I realize my current camera quality won't improve until I replace them with HD cams.

Not really. It was never finished, it's more of a proof of concept thing I did while tinkering with a capture card. I was trying to come up with an algorithm that would stop false motion detect events from tree leaf shadows without missing actual things that were moving. It just sort of evolved into the speed tracker by chance. When I was tinkering with the software, I noticed how many speeders there were in front of my house, so I set about to see if I could calculate their speed. It actually turned out to work better than I could have hoped as far as tracking the vehicles. It's kinda lame in that due to perspective in the image, people close to the curb on the other side get a big break in their calculated speed. It's really only accurate with vehicles that are close to the curb on my side, everyone else gets a reduced reading.
