I've been using a GV-1240-8 card for a few months now and it has been great. (Previously had GV-650-. It came with GV v8.0 software.
It's on a dedicated machine running 24/7 (XP1.8GHz, 1GB, NF2 mobo) and the other day I noticed the screen was blank. I have no monitor hooked up to it, only TV-out on both the video card and GV card. I couldn't get a response from the system, so I rebooted and everything was fine. Later that day it kept rebooting itself and not starting the GV-software. I'm sure that since the software wasn't starting the watchdog was just resetting the system.
I let it chill out for a bit, and next time I turned it on it started up fine. The next day I come in and it's off again, and whenever the GV-system tries to start I get the message
'The Video Capture Card driver is not compatible with your current GV-System.Please Upgrade the driver to version 8.0 or later.'
I've tried re-installing the driver, upgrading to 8.01, etc. I even took the card into a clean machine and installed the 8.01 drivers, then installed the 8.01 system and I get the same message. I'm beginning to think that something is wrong with the card. The card shows up in device manager as GV-1480. I've tried manually installing the drivers as well as using the utility. It says install successfully but it still doesn't work.
Does anyone have any pointers or something else I should try?
