I have a proposed setup for cctv cameras i was wondering if it possible to stream to multiple tv from one nvr (vivotek ND8401 ) If it’s not possible to do using IP , digital components (DVI , HDMI , VGA ) can be connected from the NVR and split to the TVs which means they will all be showing the same contents . Otherwise if it was using IP all the TV would connect to the NVR independently of each other which they can show different contents , or a device (android or small HTPC ) which has HDMI output can sit between each TV set and NVR . the tv set are far apart .

I have finalize all the components needed for a major video surveillance project I'm working on . the cameras are in separate floors ( where is 2-4 ) cameras on certain floors . My manager suggest us to use CAT 6 cabling . What is now left is finding a 8 -12 port POE switch , that has 2 SFP and support cat 6 cabling which I cannot find . Does anyone knows of any ?

my boss thinks having a higher mega pixel cameras provide much clarity than cameras with lower pixel. on our design for the company he says we should not go below 2 MP , according to my survey , areas such as door entrance or camera facing loading bay we do not require higher pixelated cameras because the field of view is not required is less than the resolution of 2MP can provide , in any case if we choose 2MP cameras , when configuring the camera to record on the server , these cameras will still record at 1.3MP or even lower than tat..am right ?right?

to my understanding cat 6 has a higher bandwidth capacity and my organization has heavy machinery so using twisted pair cabling is an advantage

In my situation we have a mixture of pir and cameras covering the perimeter but I want to integrate both to work together . I understand some concept with PIR but not the networking technical aspect concerning with RS 485 cabling . Im trying to design the network architecture for the pirs and this is where im stuck . I want to know how does one terminate the cable . If there is a device that can terminate the cable from multiple pirs and convert the signal for Ethernet (UTP) use .
