Just wanted to thank everyone for there responses, got the first site up and running with the axis/edge combo and it's a great product. I will say I don't like the fact that axis doesn't have a tech support number but exacq does and there were very helpful. -

How can inject a cpu image to a analog camera for POS?
cavcom posted a topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
My client has old analog systems with ancient cash registers that have serial ports that run over a flat phone wire to a box for each register above the dvr. The boxes have a input from the camera, an output to the dvr and an input from the flat phone wire that injects the screen information from the register to the dvr. So one box per register. Now there converting all the registers to new Pc pased levono units. My question is how can I inject whats on the screen on the new pc based registers or maybe at the least what there typing on the screen to the dvr? Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks Mike -
This is going at my house and will be my demo unit to help with sales. Im going to be placing conduit on back wall to the left of deck stairs and hug the downspout. I need help with where to place cameras and what megapixel. Im leaning towards avigilon but thats mood point for placement and selection. All ip system. Prefer dome style and the rear slider has low light how ever i can keep the outdoor lights on. The rest of house should catch light from street lights etc. Would like to be able to view whos at front door, a dedicated camera mounted under deck on that rear slider. Want to be able to see entire driveway.Want to be able to view deck and deck door. Hoping to do this in 4-5 cameras. Also would be nice to see top of driveway and street and mailbox. http://entertainment.webshots.com/album/583012341umLzmu

cavcom posted a topic in Installation Help and Accessories

cavcom replied to cavcom's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
OK, i see your point. I dont want junk. No I cant sell 100K system to a home owner, the houses ill be doing are 500k-1m on avg. So i would assume price point would be around 5-8k for installed for a quality system with 4-8 cameras with all the gadgets.OK so with that information what brand(s) would you recommend. -

For now high end residential and small business. I want all the gadgets like view from tablet or phone. Would like to be able to zoom in and out from the hardware not the camera to make installs easier for me. Would like the outdoor cameras to be ip66 and be able to work in little to no light. -
