Hi , Is it possible to have 2 routers on the same network ? They will be in 2 different areas. Let's says one on 192.168.0.1 and the other one on 192.168.0.2 ? Setting DHCP to dispatch IP from 192.168.0.3 to 192.168.0.100 on one router and from 192.168.0.101 to 192.168.0.200 on the other one. If possible , what do I put as the gateway ? Thanks for you help !

Hi , having many cams to install and want to make sure the installation is ok. My concern is the water that can go in the hole on the side. See pics... As Per installation manual , there is no seal between mounting bracket and cam but there is one between cap and mounting bracket. Bracket is WMS from Hikvision with PC 135 cap Tks

Hi , What would be the best way to extend an HDMI output from a NVR/DVR ? Monitors/TVs will be ~200 ' from the NVRs. I saw the Startech ST12MHDLAN , is it good for this ? Any other option ? Thanks ! -

Can access with 3G (WAN) but not with WI-FI (LAN) , why ?
bentech posted a topic in Computers/Networking
Hi , I have an APP on my Iphone to access my DVR. HTTP port is 10001 anf software port is 10000 and they are both forwarded to the local IP of the DVR and Ok with canyouseeme.org. The problem is I have access with my Iphone on the 3G but not with my Iphone on the local LAN (WIFI) . Gets a time-out. Router is a DLINK DIR-655. Any idea why ? -
Hi All , The 2 NVRs & DVR are installed. I attached a PIC of what it looks like. I need some help for the gateway , etc... First , is it OK the way it is right now ? What gateway I put for the settings of the CAMS ? (It's 192.168.1.1 by default) What about the NVRs & DVR ? What other other things I need to do to configure this correctly ? Should I remove the GIGA switch and connect the NVRs & DVR directly to the router ? Thanks !

Hi , Had a 32 channels Analog DVR Hikvision already installed. I need to add 2 NVRs Hikvision for IP cams. I have a 4 ports switch to connect the DVR + the 2 NVRs so the Cams traffic will be on this switch (local) . I would need to put this switch on the main network. How and is it the right thing to do ? Thanks !
-
Thanks for your reply ! Right now , I have only the 32 CAMS analog DVR connected to the network. Should I connect the 2 NVRs & DVR to a switch and connect that switch to the router ? Is it better to have all the NVRs & DVR to a separate switch or connect everything to the main router ? Thanks again !!!

Hi , I need to install many 1.3MP IP cams (varifocal 2.8-12mm & 4mm) that I already bought. The question is : Is it much better a 3MP ? Will it be a big difference ? 1.3MP---1280X1024 (1 310 720 pixels) 3MP-----2048X1536 (3 145 728 pixels) Thanks Also , I saw dome HD Analog cams. Are they good product compare to IP ?

Hi , Just a generic question regarding IP66 DOME cams with humidity. I read about the IP66 rating: "IP rated as "dust tight" and protected against heavy seas or powerful jets of water." Does the DOME cam should have a hole to evacuate humidity to avoid having condensation because of the difference of temperature outside or they should be completly sealed ? I saw a few DOME with fan inside and some without. Thanks !!!

Thanks for the reply. It will not go that deep (i.e : check liscence plate) but at least , checking face of people.

Hi , I'm upgrading an analog system with IP cams. What do you suggest Hikvision or WatchDog ? Same spec , 1.3MP varifocal IR Dome Thanks !
-
It's more a generic question about brand. In this particular appalication , it's DOME cameras , 1.3MP IP66 Varifocal IR 2.8-12mm and some fix at 4mm. Half of them will be installed on a wall bracket for a parking and the rest for inside of a depot.

RG59 compression BNC 50 ohms Ok for CCTV?
bentech replied to bentech's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
New ones are coming from WBox technologies OE-BNCMC59PT I use to take the ones from GEM ge-302n2cstp The only difference between the one I had before if the plastic inside. With a multimeter , I don t see any difference. See picture (in the bag it s the new) So the question is really if 50 ohms can be an issue? Tks.... -

Hi , Just installed a new router ASUS RT-AC87U and I'm having a hard time forwarding ports on it. I have a DVR and an alarm panel connected to the router that need ports forwarding. It's OK with the alarm panel but not with the DVR. I use "http:\\canyouseeme.org" web site to see if ports are open but doesn't work with the DVR (works with alarm). Any idea why ? PS:See picture in attachement.

Ok , problem found ! On the device that is connected to the switch/router , there is a gateway address that I did not change. (i.e: 192.168.0.1 for 192.168.1.1). That setting was hidden in the device set-up. Tks for your help !
-
Ok , I thought that the web site was only checking if the ports were open because we only put the port number and not the IP of the device.

For test pur pose, do you need the device connected to the other end when you do port open check with doyouseeme.org or it just check the router settings?
