Problem with Port Forwarding on router for DVR
bentech replied to bentech's topic in Computers/Networking
Hi , yes it works. The only thing is when I use port forwarded checker , still shows "closed" but it's opened because it's working. Tks -
Hi , On my DVR (SPECO) , it's asking to forward port 5445 & 5446 (audio only) and port 80. I put a static IP (local) to my DVR that the router doesn't use for DHCP and I forwarded all ports TCP to this IP on my router. Then , I went to http://www.portcheckers.com/ to see If I can access to my port but it's says PORT CLOSED. I disable the anti-virus & firewall and samething. What can be the problem ? Thanks.

Hi , I have IP HIKVISION cams but no DVR. I use iVMS software but I found it slow and not user friendly. We use an external hard drive for record/playback. What would be the best software to use ? Tks

DVR Capture PCR-4016 Password reset
bentech posted a topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Do you know how to reset password on the PC based DVR Capture PCR-4016 Thanks -
Hi , I'm having a configuration with 4 cameras. They are at 1000 feet with CAT3 and baluns from a local with monitors. From that local , qty 4 RG6 cables are going to a DVR in an house . (see attacment for the plan) The pictures at the local is OK (can be better but OK). When I split it to be able to see the picture on the monitor (local) and on the DVR in the house , picture is rolling. Output seem to be too noisy or too low when splitting the video signal at the local side. I tried to use an VIDAMP but samething. (http://www.google.com/imgres?num=10&hl=fr&biw=1254&bih=703&tbm=isch&tbnid=j1gE_BVOswks4M:&imgrefurl=http://www.surveillent.biz/speco-vidamp-1-out-video-amplifier.aspx&docid=HTA896ODolAhFM&itg=1&imgurl=http://surveillentsecurity.com/ProductImages/VEN/VEN-1018876644_LARGE.jpg&w=500&h=500&ei=u_v-T9iRMqrY2gXg-KyjBA&zoom=1) Any idea or any device I can use to fix this problem ? Thanks

Lines rolling on the image & top flickers
bentech posted a topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Hi , Using a cam with a passive balun with CAT3 (gauge 18) 1000` cable. At the other end , I have an active BLN-AR (GEM) . I have a RG6 cable to connect the LCD monitor to the balun. See image in attachment. Picture is having 2-3 lines rolling from top to bottom and to of the image is bending. Any idea how to improve the signal ? -
Lines rolling on the image & top flickers

Having one cam with 5VDC (Viking Intercom). The other ones are working on 12VDC. Will have to check the specs of both because the one on 5VDC doesn`t have the 1 V signal , too low. If I use a generator to adjust , maybe the CAM will not have the same output level , no ? What will be the best way to split the CCTV signal ? -

Lines rolling on the image & top flickers

You mean that a ground loop will create a top folder and lines rolling on the image ? Can I confirm this with a scope ? Can it just be that the video level is too low ? -
Tks for the reply. Any suggestion of the active baluns that I can use (powered on one side only) ? Anything compatible with the baluns that I have , GE-BLNSTPT2 ? Do I need to change them on both sides ?

Hi , I just post a topic concerning a problem with CCTV video signal that was too low to split signal at the end. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=31374 I was using passive baluns. (GE-BLNSTPT2) Can I use active baluns but powered at one end only ? (not the camera side) Also , what about impedance (75 ohms). After using the baluns , signal is splitted to a DVR and a monitor. Do I need to put any type of termination ? Thanks...

CCTV signal to boost and split in 2
bentech replied to bentech's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
I used this CAT3 cable because it was a 6 pairs and gauge was a bit bigger (18). I needed 6 pairs because there is an intercom and access systems also. I used 4 pairs for the cams , 1 for the intercom CO line and one for the trigger button on the intercom/access. I passed this underground cable myself. The power (12v) for the cam is local so power to the cam is OK. I thought about using active baluns instead of passive. For me I had a few options: -Use a booster / spliter 1 to 2 at the local side -Use a passive baluns (Is it possible to use a passive baluns at the CAM side and an active at the other end ?) Any idea to solve my problem ? Thanks again...
