  1. I've seen a picture online seen below showing cnb vcm-24vf with an included rca female pigtail. I'll just get a rca male to bnc female fitting then I'll just plug that into the balun and call it a day.
  2. Would these fit in the vcm-24vf as well? Seems like they're easier to work with. Also does this camera output a standard bnc pigtail for video installed or do I have to install one myself?
  3. Good to know. Thanks. I wasn't aware there were terminals at the camera end. Now these cameras are going to be installed outdoors and most of them will be installed on vinyl siding with the wires being hidden under the siding. Would I be better off using baluns and cat5e or would you go with the siamese? I'm mainly worried that I won't be able to fit the baluns under the siding presuming I won't be able to fit the baluns into the camera housing itself. This is why i'm choosing the siamese. Any thoughts would be appereciated.
  4. How do you mean? I have to provide power to them somehow I'm talking about near the dvr. I was planning on using Siamese cable and addding the correct pigtail (male/female) on each end of the power portion of the siamese then using the octopus to plug into an outlet somewhere near the dvr.
  5. Hi, I've been asked to install a 3-4 camera system for a family member. This would be my first install. Budget is around $800. DVR choice is http://www.dahuasecurity.com/English/product_info.aspx?type=351&&css=1&&id=37# Camera choice is 1 CNB VCM-24vf which will be under a protected roof just above the side entrance (seen below). The other camera will be watching the back of the house where there is a driveway. (see pics) The vcm-24vf is good from what I hear on these forums though aesthetically speaking a dome camera wouldn't look right pasted on corner siding which is the only feasible mount location for the other camera which would be watching the driveway. I know CNB makes a bullet version of the vcm-24vf but it would break my budget. Can anyone recommend a best bang for buck bullet camera that's on par with the cnb vcm-24vf? Ideally I'd like dual voltage. It doesn't necessarily have to be varifocal. 3.6mm is ok. Btw anyone have experience with 3rd generation led cctv cameras similar to the one seen below? Thanks in advance. Any good? p.s. If anybody has any placement recommendations I'd appreciate that as well. PM's welcome:)
