GeoVision or Dedicated System? Hotel install, check it out
dj29152 posted a topic in General Digital Discussion
Hey guys, Building a new system for a hotel. 16 cams. I was thinking 480/480 (might change if the price is high) and definitely need Web View/Remote View. So question is geovision, avermedia or a dedicated DVR system? I have always use geovision, and i like them, but since the price of this gig will be high, i want to cut down some places. FYI: Cams: C420MDVAIDC ... Arm Electronics. google them and visit page 17. Remember i need the varifocal because the hallways of the hotel are long so i need to focus them. btw, open to suggestions. Another question. RG59 (siamese) or Cat 5e with baluns? PS: open to suggestions / criticism. Thanks -

How long can RG 59 work Cat5e?
dj29152 replied to dj29152's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
I believe max run would be 400' - 500'. Well if i can run the power locally, that would be the best but, lets take the worst into account. Are there any good priced baluns out there? ... ive compared Cat5e + baluns (32) and RG59 coax ... both 3 x 1000' spool and the siamese wins by a lot. However if you use Cat5e, then in the future you can use IP based. Whats your take? -
yea u did exactly the same thing as we did.. exact without the sharp camera.. um basically those cameras are alright...we liek the nuvico's but are planning to try new things like http://www.armelectronics.com/ http://www.pelco.com/ other stuff GE is good ...as i heard.. read around

alright pictures are in... to me this is bad quality Camera: NVCC-HD http://www.nuvico.com/product_detail.asp?strCategoryCD=CC001&strModel=&prod_cd=NP0024&Page=1 Camera: http://www.cctvspecialty.com/coinhirebuca.html Camera: NVCC-W28IR12N http://www.nuvico.com/product_detail.asp?strCategoryCD=CC001&strModel=OUTDOOR%20BULLET%20IR%20CAMERAS&prod_cd=NP0039&Page=1 Camera: http://www.cctvspecialty.com/1webucawsose.html Camera: http://www.cctvspecialty.com/codoinwaca48.html btw i am definately NOT buying from www.cctvspecialty.com again. ok but see what i mean.... like in the pic u cant see the fuzzyneed but even though look how poor the quality is.. jagedy edges ...just poor.. is it that we are using wrong cabling? different way of crimping the BNC? making a proper BNC connection? to my best knowledge i know that if there is a problem it would have to be with the cabling/connectors what do you guys think?
-
medium i guess. 480 is considered high for color ... anything beyond that is great resolution 380 is like default
-
I dont think it works but you can check this out List of computers tested with Geovision cards http://www.polvision.com.pl/files.asp?lang=en&id=85&find={datasheets}

-
alrigt rory .. how do you know if the UPS has AVR or power conditioning ...because the link that you gave doesnt say AVR or power conditioning anywhere
-
thanks alot another thing is that ... i spoke with rory and he HELPED A LOT... but im asking other people on the forums to.. are there other setting in the geovision software to change so i can get bette picture then?
-
damn i didnt even know that.. um can you point me to the right direction as in which UPS to choose from ? for CCTV? and where to buy them?
-
yea it i plugged into a UPS i dont know the model number because they bought it after we left.. i can get the model # soon ... in a few hours but basically all cams come into a power supply and then the wire from the power supply goes into the UPS but how does a UPS affect the cameras?

Dear Forum members, i ahve been reading about CCTV and have been studying it for a while. I have also installed a CCTV system (geovision) with my cousin. The thing is that the picture is clear its just that, you know when your trying to recieve a channel with one of those radio shack antennas... its is clear but liek u can see loops of red stuff, red looping things come.. so i wanted to see what other people have and compare to the one that my cousin and i have installed. i will aslo take screen shots of the setup and post it so forum members can see what i am talking about clearly. but in the mean time does anybody have like a webcam setup up (geovision) so you can view online. i just want to compare the video .. im not trying to be nosy or anythign thanks a lot

1.) i think we did change the recording resolution 2.) i think Deinterlace is off because VGA could not support it 3.) codec -- dont know 4.) verison 8.0 geovision 1240-8 240/240 5.) snapshots are local 6.) video card is MSI RX9550 256mb 128 bit http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814127153 7.) MB: Gigabyte http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128008 CPU: Intel Core Duo 3.0 ghz Cipset: for MB is North: Intel 865G South: Intel ICH5 i knew that geovision loves intel chipset so i got this board.
