  1. Thanks Digiblur. I was hoping to get it done with some 3rd party software as opposed to another monthly/ annual paid service. Don't get me wrong, I like to explore all options available but if it comes down to no other options but pay for the service or upgrade the device, I may decide to upgrade the device instead and avoid the added monthly overhead.
  2. Hi all, This being my first post on this forum, my apologies in advance if I am missing some info on my DVR. In a nutshell, I have one of these no name 4 channel H.264 CCTV DVR unit that I bought about 3 yrs ago. It has the email alert snapshot feature which I have used successfully in the past with a previous ISP configured for port 25 (no SSL). I no longer have that ISP account, and every other Service provider I would like to use is requesting another port with TLS (gmail:463, hotmail:587, etc..). The folks that sold me the unit say they no longer sell those units, and cannot even tell me where I can begin to search for a firmware upgrade for to see if TLS was ever added. Can some one tell me if they know of a Workaround for this issue? I don't mind installing a service on a separate PC if need be to act as a relay for this device so that I can get my alerts with gmail or hotmail. It seems to me a bit of a waste of $$ to get rid of a working unit if a third party fix is available. Again, I apologize in advance if I haven't provided specifics of the device, but there are no other distinguishing features that I can post other than it saying " DVR H.264".
