Hello, I am new to this forum and would like to get input on some camera/neighbor issues. First, let me say that my having cameras on my home are legal, and have been in operation long before a new neighbor has moved in. All of the other neighbors have been ok with the camera setup. It points off the front of my home (under eaves) and points toward the street showing my driveway. Recently we had a new neighbor move in and immediately start protesting around the neighborhood about the camera "watching them". They never brought it to my attention directly, but rather through someone else. Out of respect for my neighbor, I removed that camera. To make a long story short, I need to install something more covert that they won't pay attention to. I thought about installing a camera in a bird house, but the IR LED's glow red and thy can see them. I have offered to show them that my camera can not see their home, but they refuse to look at it. The reason for their suspicion is likely due to the amount of traffic coming and going from their home day and night. Our local police officer has asked me to put the camera back online. If someone has a suggestion, please let me know. I can't use anything wireless that they can pick up with a baby monitor or other receiver.

This question has been asked, I searched the forums but I am not able to find all of the answers that I was looking for. I hope those of you with more networking skills can help me out. I am looking to connect 3 DVR's to a router. I'm not sure if I can just assign a different port (80,81,82, etc.) for each IP address and open that port, or if I need to use a service such as DynDns? Has anyone done a "how to" on multiple DVR connections? Thank you

I am looking for an inexpensive 4 channel DVR for a project I am working on. The DVR would need the following to work properly: Android compatible VGA video output Audio input Two way communication Pentaplex Ptz control D1 record Email sent on motion detect Does anyone know of such a DVR? Is there any DVR that would allow a manual (remotely over internet) trigger to an relay or siren? Thanks

The 2 way communication is the one feature I seem to have the most trouble finding. -
Does anyone know if there are any inexpensive indoor/outdoor ip cameras on the market? thanks

"Inexpensive" IP cameras??
cctvwatch replied to cctvwatch's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Sorry... I would say under $100. I suspect they won't be in the area for long. They will likely disappear or be broken with the help of some of our locals. -
I am having difficulty making my "motion detected" email notification work. The software I'm using on my stand alone dvr is Web Client for EDVs/EDVR. I am including a screen shot and can post the manual if needed. Do I need to set up some other service to use the email feature such as those at dyndns.org?? Does the port shown "6050" have to be open on my router? Thanks http://img805.imageshack.us/img805/2496/screenhunter01jul271222.jpg

I'm thinking I can mount one on or in a security light (motion sensing security light). I just need to find a small "lipstick" or similar camera.

Survtech, Thanks for the reply.. yes, we have had a noticeable increase in traffic and we know something isn't normal. My cameras do not show what goes on at their property. I made sure it isn't in view, plus it's a 3.6mm lens. You wouldn't make anything out on it anything that far away. I'm hoping to put something back up that they won't notice. I hate to get that whole argument going again, but I will protect my property from crime to my best ability.
