Single port, multi-channel (24 channel) IP Camera System
cctvikidis replied to Matiw's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Almost every 2megapixel h264 camera produces a max of 6mbit stream, so if you will have a constant max stream of 144mbits from the cameras. Now you can not give power to 24 cameras and to poe switches through one utp cable. Its impossible because cameras consume much more power than ip phones and other small poe devices. Now if you use one utp for network and one power cable for powering the cameras and the switches you will have to buy less expensive switches and you will get 1gb link between the nvr and the cameras. -

I need help finding a driver for TECHWELL TW 2804
cctvikidis replied to PCXDREAM's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You can try this http://184.154.51.29/FTP/Luvicom/Luvicom_12.12.0/ -
Try this. I do not now if this applies to your camera but give it a try. Find flicker control in the settings and configure it as indoor ntsc. If you leave in America try the pal. It might give you more illuminated video at night.

Dahua vs Hikvision
cctvikidis replied to dart73's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I agree with most of the other guys here about dahua. But there is a drawback with the mobile application. Dahua's mobile applications sucks, hikvision's new ivms mobile applications are top of the tops. Especially if you have a windows phone 8 device, hikvision is your only option here. -
Hdcvi vs ip vs HD-Sdi 1080p samples
cctvikidis replied to aurmol's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
HD-SDI is pure digital. HDCVI/HDTVI/AHD are modified analog signals. So the latency in all this systems is always close to 0. HD-SDI has BY FAR the clearest picture in all this protocols and also the same happens if it is compared with IP Cameras, because of it's uncompressed digital stream. But it has also some severe drawbacks like that problems with interferences which are caused by gsm phones and cell transmitting equipment and the inability to connect them through CAT 5/6 network cables without using super expensive baluns. -
It seems to me that the article is 50% correct. That means 50% wrong. The AHD could be the best one, simply because it is most recent. But you may take 100% of comments from survtech. All of them are working hard to improve its video quality and long distance performance. We may expect good results sooner or later. In the AHD part it's absolutely correct as i have found myself working with an AHD dvr. The article is failing mostly on the HDCVI.

https://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20140912094320-252393278-let-s-talk-about-cvi-tvi-ahd This article speaks the truth about all this protocols. The most problematic of these 3 standards is AHD by far.

Dahua switching back to SXVGA
cctvikidis replied to jdowning's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I had that problem too. Ask from dahua the latest firmware and you should be able to get 5 megapixel video at 8 fps, at least that's how i solved my problem. -

DVR card cannot support new type of motherboard
cctvikidis replied to jimmyysk's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You need the card that i told you before. It's irrelevant to tell me what newer card do. It wont help you. If you have an agp system you can use all ati cards until 98xx series and nvidia cards geforce 2 mx and SIS onboard cards 63x
