Advanced Technology Video FA-4 Archiving Video?
IPCCTV replied to IPCCTV's topic in General Digital Discussion
cool ronnie.. let me know what you find out. Appreciate it! -
I plan on using a ATV FA-4 basic DVR. I want to be able to take the video out and store it for a week off site. I am trying to figure out if I can stream it to an off site computer with a 250G HD say for example. The purpose of course would be if anything happened to the DVR during a breakin, I would have video of the incident before the threw the DVR into the drink. Any thoughts would be helpful! FA-4 does have an ethernet cable output and is capable of remoted viewing. Unsure what the output is?? streaming mpeg? m-jpeg? unknow... anyone know?

The Pelco ICS090 is a high res camera... The B&W model is not 380 accourding to my cut sheet??? Pelco ICS090 Color Camclosure Dom Model ICS090-CW-V39 Image Device 1/3 Hight 4.04 Width 5.72 Input Voltage 12VDC Power Consumption 3 watts Resolution NTSC 504 TVL Signal to Noise 53db Min Illumination (lux) 0.05 White Balance Auto or Manual Backlight Compensation Auto or Manual Lens 3.0mm-9.0mm Iris Auto Housing Color Black or White Cost -
I would be open to something along the lines of the Pelco 310, or maybe a dome.. I am in the Boston area and like something to have a htr and blwr if possible.. but it needs to withstand the elemets (IP66). The house is an old colonial.. 1.5+ million.. dont want a big industrial housing to take away from home... I have to say, I am not a big fan of day/night cams.. my experience, and I would love to be proven wrong, is they do not work for %#*^.

I have tradionaly used the B&W version of Pelco's ICS310 Camclosure for applications where outdoor lighting isnt the best and appearances were important as that cam is pretty unobtrusive and requires little light. The downside of that camera is in the B&W version, the longest lens I can get is a fixed 12mm. I need to see a face at about 25 feet from where the camera will be mounted. Accourding to my lens calculator, I will need something like a 20mm. Anyone have any thoughts on finding a low light high res. B&W camera that has a vari-focal lens say in the 20mm range? Thanks all!

Chris.. not for nothing, but before you open up your shop, you should know what a high resolution camera is vs a standard resoltuion... I just read your post in another forum... are you being honest with everyone here brother?

You can get a very nice B&W high res. (570TVL) low light camera (<.20 lux) with a heater and blower for under $350. Make sure whatever you buy is rated IP66 for true weatherproof protection... otherwise you will be searching for a replacement in less than 2 years.. In my experience, bullet cams under eaves dont last long at all.. despite whatever they tell you.

I have seen some some Advanced Technology Video stuff branded with ADT on it recently.

Rory.. Thanks man.. You helped me out. Appreciate it. Got one other question that I'll post under a new thread.. nothing to do with this topic. Thanks again

Hi, I am looking to feed the video out of the DVR and into a TV instead of a high res. monitor. Customer wants to use his picture in picture on his HD tv. Does anyone have a recomendation on a simple TV modulator. Never used one.. any help would be appreciated. Thanks much! Like your forum.. Lots of good advise..

Using a Advanced Technolgy Video FA4 4 ch. DVR. It doe have an SVHS out as well as a VGA output. So I would imagine I really dont need a video modulator. I would just go S video out to an unused video input on the guys TV.. that should do it right? Now if he wants to watch it from his bedroom, living room, and den.. then a modulator (decoder) on each tv and one modulator (encoder) on the output side of the dvr. He would need to use a seperate channel for each channel of video right? I am gooing to sell it to him where he needs to watch the cctv video on the one tv where the dvr video is coming into his tv via the s cable.. I am a big beleiver of KISS.. for me anyway.
