Mobotics Cameras Compatible with 3rd Party NVR System
chucky replied to chucky's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
buellwinkle Sir: Always appreciate your assistance and response. I guess I was not detailed enough on my original question and maybe need to ask the same or similar question in reverse. I really do not care if the QSee cameras actually record but I do need them for live viewing. So can the software that can be downloaded from Mobotics MXViewer allow me to view the 2 Mobotics cameras and also the Qsee cameras on the same screen? Or would Blue Iris support both styles, brands of cameras for viewing? I can easily ditch the NVR and move on but I wanted to utilize the QSee cameras if possible. Thank You Chucky -

Nice looking system, which supplier did you end up purchasing through? I can see concerns about using a unapproved suppliers especially dealing with lack of support, returns, or warranty issues that could arise. Thanks Chucky -
ACTi System

One quick question on these configurations: With the dual nic card setup would all components be using the same setup on the IP addresses (192.168.1.x), Gateway 192.168.1.254), and SubNet Mask 255.255.255.0)? or would the POE switch and the NIC card dedicated to the cameras be setup differently? Evample: 192.168.0.x, 192.168.0.254, 255.255.255.0 Thank You Chucky -
Missed the swann system at costco This Lorex is coming
chucky replied to zikronix's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The iphone app looks like you may have more control then the Qsee app. I Would like to see some night video before I pull the trigger and make a purchase. Also looks like you may have some camera control as far a resolution changes and zoom control through the remote software. Thanks Chuck -
Need Assistance with Costco Q-see 4 Channel NVR Expansion
chucky posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I purchased the Q-See (Costco) 4 channel 4 camera NVR system for $699.00 but the 4 camera limitation I need to resolve. I would like to have expansion of up to 16 cameras. What would be the best solution allowing me to reuse the 4 Q-See 720p cameras and the 1TB hard drive dumping the 4 channel NVR? I also have a 24 port Dlink POE switch available for this project. PC based solution? NVR with up to 16 channel capacity? Thanks You in advance for your feedback. Chucky -
New IP Cam / Costco System
chucky replied to newbie2's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
But aern't we talking about cheap systems to begin with? Would I want to invest more money for a better POE switch and drive up the cost? I get the idea of purchasing high end system and spend some serious cash with a goal of never having the system going down. I doubt if most consumers that purchase an entry level IP system for home or business expect to have to purchase a POE switch to add cameras. I do not think Costo or Sams Club carry the needed POE switches as an accessory. -

I will go one better then the 3208 I will purchase the Dahua 3216 if you offer one that has 16 POE ports. I do not understand why Dahua only installs 4 POE ports but advertise the NVR as a 16 Camera NVR system. Why would the consumer want to be required to purchase a POE switch for expandability to the advertised channel capacity? -
Swann 8 Channel HD 1080p 2 TB NVR Available at Costco
chucky posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Just a quick note looks like there is a new 1080p IP camera NVR system available at Costco. I have never owned a Swann but I did noticed the NVR has 8 POE ports matching the advertised 8 channel unlike Qsee's 4, 8, and 16 channel systems with only 4 POE ports. Sale price 3/6 through 3/13 $899.00 I am not recommending this system I am just making sure the team realizes this is availabe with the Costco return policy that everyone seems to enjoy. http://www.costco.com/Swann-8-Channel-HD-NVR-Security-System-with-2TB-Hard-Drive-and-4-1080p-IP-Cameras.product.100027599.html -

So on this low cost system do you think there would be a great disavantage in purchasing the F2? I guess I am assuming that the stock 6mm lens has an F1.8 lens? Thank You Chucky -
AvertX 8 and 16 Channel Professional IP System at COSTCO

buellwinkle Thanks for the response I just wanted to share these 2 systems because everyone here seem to enjoy Costco's effortless return policy. I agree they do seem high priced and yes looks to be a fairly new company with limited camera selection. Thank You Chucky -

Thank You Kawboy12R for clarification. I emailed M12lenses for an approximate date for restocking of these 3.6mm, F1.8 Mega Pixel CCTV Board lens but have not seen a response. I will keep looking for the F1.8. Thank You Chucky -

I see these lens are now out of stock at M12lenses.com. I also noticed more of this style lens with a iris of F2 instead of the F1.8. What is the advantage of the iris being F1.8 in comparison to the F2? Thank You Chucky -

I received my Qsee unit from Costco, still setting up. Can someone verify the required voltage on the (QNC7001B) cameras? I would like to install my DLink switch but in doing so I did not want to damage the cameras. Thank You Chucky -
Has anyone used the Dlink DES-1228P POE switch? I purchased one as a building block for a new IP camera system and wonderd if anyone has experience with this POE switch. Thanks in advance for your comments.

I purchased one online last night I am assuming my dlink DES-1228P switch should work with this system? This would be great if I lucked out and received the 8 channel NVR. -

What would be the pros and cons of purchasing 2X of these complete systems from Costco? I could use more then a 4 camera system. I was serious about going with Mobitix possibly not needing as many cameras based on 360 degree coverage. Mobotix is costly. I thought by now with refined manufacturing techniques, lower component costs that their prices might drop?
