yes, that is the difference between Hybrid and non Hybrid DVR, what matters most is the camera, ip or analog.
but there is also 3 in 1 intelligent IVR, DVR+HVR+NVR, with video analysis functions.

Never used Dahua cards so I can not help. But I have installed and sold quite a few Hik cards, and I have never had a single one fail or give me problems, so I do wonder why anyone would think that they are "very badly crafted cards"...
both hik and dahua products sell well abroad
NVR means network video recorder, for wireless installation. as for DVR, now SVR(standalone DVR) is common used, D1 resolution, record playback. both have its advantages. But if used in office or buildings, DVR is better.
