  1. Thanks again, turning off the video definitely helps, now conversion takes about 5 min for every hour. However, it is still glitchy. Downloading DAV locally also stops once in a while, but perhaps I will try this option. Quick question on Dahua batch converter mentioned earlier at this link http://www.bahamassecurity.com/cctv-software/dahua-software/dahua-dav-to-avi-batch.aspz - it says that program is free but downloading is available only to premier members. Can one of the premier members upload the program to rapidshare, mediafire or some other file sharing service? In case anyone interested, here is the link to another free DAV to AVI and player http://www.dvr365.com/docs/support/software.html I would like to compare both of them. Thanks for all your help!
  2. Thanks, jakesoundels, Even without video playback it is quite slow. As I understand , for batch converter local video files are still needed. I tried to download dav. fles from DVR and download is also very slow. How do you use batch converter? DO you download DAV files from the box using PSS software, or you copy them to your local computer using some other method?
  3. Thanks for all great info you have on this forum, I am trying to check some records in Dahua PSS 4.06 software installed on WIndows 7. I am using Q-See QC444 DVR. Trying 8 times playback seems to be very buggy, sometimes playback stops , sometimes still happens with normal speed. So, in order to review the records, I am converting them to AVI file, and after that I am reviewing this AVI with DIVX player which has excellent fast forward features (up to 32x). However, actual conversion to AVI takes about 30 min for each hour of recording. Is it normal? Can I speed it up? It looks like it is not using my computer CPU for the conversion (based on CPU load by PSS software), so perhaps actual conversion is happening on the DVR. Any suggestions how can I speed up the process, or, at least , some other ideas how to check the records to find specific incident?
