  1. Would any of these ANPR cameras work? http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/anpr-camera.html Also, when burying your BNC camera cables in the ground do you have to bury them in conduit?
  2. I am trying to figure out how to install 2 cameras to look parallel up an down the street in front of my house. I live on a city street with a 30' driveway to my house. I want to get cameras out closer to the street in order to get license plates and faces of those going up and down the street and sidewalk. I want it to be somewhat vandal proof. Should I try and mount them to my mailbox post out next to the curb, or put up a post inside my yard? Do I hang the outdoor CCTV cameras in plane view or do I put them in some type of inclosure? Whats available to do this? Any help here would be great.

    What DVR to buy??

I am looking for a stand alone 8 channel DVR and I would like to stay around $300. The cameras that I am using are Sony EFFIO-E cameras. If I have to go over $300, I could but would like to stay around that range. What would be the best DVR with the best resolution, frames per second, etc. for the money?
  4. Is there any benefit in viewing quality, etc. to buying a DVR with HMDI output 1920x1080 if you are only recording at D1 704x480? If you are recording at 704x480, won't your best display resolution be at 704x480? I am new to the CCTV market. I am looking at buying a DVR system and I'm trying to understand what is needed to get the best picture quality if you are recording at D1 resolution. Do you just need to look for a display resolution output of 704x480 or is there any added clarity if you buy a DVR with HDMI. The cameras I am looking at using are the Sony Effio-e camera with 700TVL. This is the DVR I was looking to buy. Swann DVR4-4000 http://www.swann.com/s/products/view/?product=1408 Are there other DVR's under $300 that I should consider instead of this.
