Viewing On Mobile Phone - Hikvision
milkisbad replied to pbar's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mcu.iVMS You are using that app right? By the way you aren't using like the new blackberry or Windows phone right? Don't think those work. -
Please recommend an easily hidden camera to save my mom
milkisbad replied to Justice2mom's topic in Security Cameras
http://www.hikvision.com/en/products_show.asp?id=7362 http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/Prod_GVIPCAMCB220.asp These two have built-in audio and wifi capabilities, but not completely wireless since you need power. You can use SD card to record then download directly to your computer through internet. but they are kind of big and hard to hide... http://www.kjbsecurity.com/products/detail/24-wireless-color-camera-with-dvr-receiver/366/ (not sure if anyone used it before, but don't seem to have audio) audio you can always use a separate voice recorder and hide in in a different location. good luck! -
Viewing On Mobile Phone - Hikvision
milkisbad replied to pbar's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Yes the camera number should come up automatically after you click 'Save' icon on upper right. You can also use two other apps but they are all identical pretty much. NVMS7000 or Guarding Expert If you have wifi at the location, try it on wifi try using your local IP, that should work even if you have networking problems. If it doesn't work on your phone even locally on wifi, its not the ports then. -
Viewing On Mobile Phone - Hikvision
milkisbad replied to pbar's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Try to ask a friend to try on his phone, might just be your phone. alternatively, test out the Hikvision demo site on your phone, if your phone can't see the demo, could be the way you are entering the information. Tips: Register mode should be IP/Domain don't put the http port behind address Port refers to your Server port Camera No. is automatically generated -
Is 3MP enough for a fisheye camera?
milkisbad replied to Paranoid Pete's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
We made a video of it using the 3mp one, I believe its straight from the camera on a computer. But this video could just look better than it does in real life for marketing reason. -
cctv video signal loss... help pls
milkisbad replied to legendryrama's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Could be bad Balun or loose connection. Are you running the power through the Cat5 also? You can double up on the wiring for the power or increase to 1.5 - 2 amp power. "i get video signal losses every now and then. once signal lost , i have to disconnect and reconnect my BNC rca adapter from the monitor." If this fixes the problem (without you turning off the power) could be bad bnc to rca adapter/ balun connection. -
How Do I Setup an External Microphone?
milkisbad replied to RIPE's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
If Dahua Hybrid is anything like Hikvision Hybrid, they should have at least 4 RCA (Or BNC) audio input in the back (which corresponds to ch 1,2,3,4 of the analog side). If you run a mic to input 1, you just need to click on ch 1 (of the analog camera) and enable audio. The audio will also be recorded into ch 1. -

DS-2CD3332-I Wall Mount?
milkisbad replied to lishper's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
awww wish they sent me so I could have met you and thank you for all I have learned from you, so what did you think of our booth? Lispher I can send you some pictures of the drill holes on the mount with a ruler measuring the distance between each holes first, then you measure the holes on your side, if they are identical it should be ok. -
DS-2CD3332-I Wall Mount?
milkisbad replied to lishper's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
If you want to make sure it fits and you can buy from me, I can test out for you first thing on Monday morning. =] But yeah its a valid concern, not just with this specific camera, but with alot of mounts they don't design it that well. -I've seen wall mounts where there wasn't enough space to fish the cable through, misaligned holes, or just not the right size.. -
Trouble Setting my DVR to record
milkisbad replied to Fryatt's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
hmm you opened the DVR and there's no HD? wow such bad luck sometimes they install the hd but didn't plug in the cables (HAPPENS ALOT) then the DVR won't be able to detect it either. I would open up the dvr and see if there's anything inside. but yea get your money back or have them ship you a HD with sata cables and screws -
Trouble Setting my DVR to record
milkisbad replied to Fryatt's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Check if your hard drive is formatted. Or if there is a hard drive at all (sometimes they forget to install one even if you paid for it). 2nd I would check to see if the time is set correctly, on more than one occasion i had a customer whose time was off by a few days then when they search for today they couldn't find anything. Good luck! -
Is 3MP enough for a fisheye camera?
milkisbad replied to Paranoid Pete's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I heard the software wasn't stable....but let me know wireguys! We have the 3 mp version with WDR in stock...maybe we should actually turn it on and see what's up. -

Looking for DVR with Chrome / Firefox Support
milkisbad replied to security_hobbyist's topic in General Digital Discussion
I prefer to use Chrome with Hikvision stuff actually, I would say almost all the models in 2013 will work with Chrome. -
POE switch is best. Non-POE switch with Power adapter is cheapest. NVR with built-in POE is even easier. (Plug and Play), and don't have to leave PC on all day, but you have to run cameras all the way to the machine. Do you only have 5 cameras? then you can get a 4+1 POE switch then 1 POE injector...which will save you a bit over a full 8 port POE.

Mini dome wall mount?
milkisbad replied to acableconnection's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Looks like a Dahua 1.3mp dome, you can get it for less at here: http://www.marscctv.net/productDetail.php?catalog=209&id=781 I personally just mounted it on the wall, but as far as I know they don't have a specific wall mount for that thing. -
Viewing On Mobile Phone - Hikvision
milkisbad replied to pbar's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
hmm i would check out the machine and see what port they have under upnp for the server port. that is the number you need to put in ivms 4500's port section (could be dif than 8000) 2nd is if the rtsp port is 554, change it, because many mobile provider seems to block that port. you can still connect but only get black screen if your phone provider blocked it. -
Wish they would send me but they are sending girls instead x/. young pretty girls ...

Remote Download Files from Swann DVR (SSH or other?)
milkisbad replied to jasongallant's topic in Digital Video Recorders
USB backup SHOULD be the fastest, followed by LAN download. If that Swann DVR is made by Hikvision (which I'm pretty sure it is, because their IP line is also by Hik), you can try out the Hikvision ivms 4200 software and do backup through that. 2nd way to backup is to use the Hikvision toolset's Remote backup function, I just started playing with it and seems you can set it up for auto-backup. ivms 4200 download. http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/download_more.asp?id=1296 Hikvision toolset download http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/portal/index.php?dir=Software/01%20%20%20Software%20Tool%20Package/12%20%20%20Hikvision%20Tools%20Setup/ (Download the one with the later date) Each of those software comes with user manuals for details if you go to the location where the program is installed (typically under program files) Good luck! I'll let you know what I find using the toolset. -
Pulling a JPEG image from a Hikvision DS-2CD2332?
milkisbad replied to videotiger's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You're so welcome~ yeah Buellwinkle's posts are so helpful. Also the cameras' ports have to be forwarded for it to work remotely~ Now I just wish I can get the mjpeg substream from the camera on the browser... -
Pulling a JPEG image from a Hikvision DS-2CD2332?
milkisbad replied to videotiger's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Syntax will be http://IP/Streaming/channels/1/picture (I found the answer from a post by buellwinkle on this forum), once you hit that URL it'll ask you for user name and password then you get a instant jpeg. you can refresh and it will get a new picture without asking for password. I like this because you can use it on your phone's browser without any apps. (put in the :http port at the end of the IP if its not 80) -
Beware of Cantonk and other cheap chinese manufacturers
milkisbad replied to Sgsecurity's topic in Security Cameras
haha wait until you see the amount of RMA a local distributor goes through with their supplier in China...its NOT normal when everything works like its suppose to. -
Have to use same brand cameras as nvr?
milkisbad replied to carito's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I think Aliexpress has the shortest warranty (and probably the one with most hassle) to return anything. I just looked up a hik 3mp mini bullet and its only 12 month warranty. Most dealers in US offer their own 3 year for the same camera (including us), but upfront cost is higher. They are basically for people who know what they need and how to connect a system without any support (or a tech savvy person) and need the rock bottom prices. (which isn't so rock bottom anymore once something goes wrong/returns/no support) Here are some reviews of alieexpress though, but if you can find a reliable seller with real feedback then great, http://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/www.aliexpress.com And i think this one is the equal of the 5208. http://www.hikvision.com/en/us/Products_show.asp?id=4142
