    Audio camera problems

Thanks! My problem is the installation has no power, only PoE. So I am trying to decide whether to use a non-powered mic like this and connect like this: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102959 http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-107190-Stereo-Splitter-Adaptor/dp/B00DJAAFVW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1387066763&sr=8-2&keywords=rca+female+to+3.5mm+female http://www.amazon.com/Olympus-ME-52W-Noise-Canceling-Microphone/dp/B000MYPPPE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1387066560&sr=8-1&keywords=olympus+mic Camera wire terminal-->RCA male to bare leads cable--->rca female to 3.5mm female adapter--->olympus mic with 3.5mm male. I could eliminate the adapter if radio shack has 3.5mm to bare leads speaker cable. 2nd way I was thinking of is using PoE splitter so I can get a DC power out and use your mic with DC pass through to run power for both the mic and the camera...But i will still need the RCA cable with bare leads. Method 1 has been untested, seems less expensive, and not sure if the mic would even work with that camera... Method 2 will be similar to your installation, which seems safer since you said had good results. For the radio shack cable, did you cut it to be a shorter length? I saw that it says 24 feet long... Thanks again for all your help!

    Audio camera problems

Hi Shockwave, mind if I ask how did you solve this issue? What kind of cable did you end up running? What mic did you use? I'm in the same situation now (a little bit worse since I don't have extra power for amplified mic) with the same camera... Thank you!

    DISTRIBUTORS??

LTS distributes to other installers/resellers (like retail stores), usually not to the public. If you are an installer/reseller and you want to set up an account I'll tell the guy to contact you to setup something, there's no online store as far as buying equipment goes (just email your sales the stuff you want to place online orders).

    DISTRIBUTORS??

Hi Ssnapier, nice to see some LTS customers on here =]

    DISTRIBUTORS??

LTS is pretty good if you are in the southeast. Always ships out the same day if you order before 5pm, will get to Florida in 2 days with Fedex Ground (3 days with UPS ground). All the tech support/sales people are in the US. Let me know if you are interested, I can refer you to the technical sales guy or at least get you a catalog.
  6. Try this: download the webcomponent to a specific location instead of running it. close down/exit all your browsers. Run the webcomponent and install restart your browser. If not, try Chrome, I always had better luck with Chrome.
  7. Does your video seem choppy at the NVR when its 1 camera at a time or seeing all the cameras together? If its only choppy when you are seeing all the cameras, check the FPS on your sub-stream. Increase that to 20+ to see fluid motion.
  8. Hmm try deleting the cameras in the NVR and re-add them. Also put in the default gateways for the cameras if you haven't. If nothing works, I would try to ask your vendor for the latest firmware for your NVR and cameras and hope it solves the problem. Here are two other apps that will work with hikvision: NVMS 7000 and Guarding Expert. Give them a try if the problem is caused by the app.
  9. For the IE/firefox problem for http port 90, put :90 at the end of the address after you change the http port to 90. Example my external IP is 123.45.6.78 I would put in http://123.45.6.78:90 to get to the NVR. the standard format is that you put ':http port' at the end of your address, only 80 does not need to be specify since 80 is the default one. Did you change the RTSP port on the NVR and port forward that too? I think you are almost there, keep working~
  10. We sell the motorized version vari-focal bullet...not too many people buys it due to upfront cost, but you can remotely adjust focus/zoom (through the PTZ control), I think the hours of labor saved can justify the extra cost, especially if someone wants you to go all the way back to the job site just to readjust the focus/zoom...
  11. Looks like there's a 300-400% markup from that store. http://www.ctccommunications.com.au/review/product/list/id/5394/category/335/ similar looking camera (with worse specs) to the ebay camera...but only $146 after the original $328! But then again, if they are selling directly to end users and provides support, that's about the right price (maybe $30 too much).
  12. Here's what one of my customer did in Florida...had bad picture on all his cameras, new job, cameras were fine, cables were fine...didn't know what was wrong, ground loop isolator were no help... then he grounded the DVR (which came with a built in grounding screw) and all the pictures cleared up. He said he grounded it to a negative terminal of the power box that powers all his cameras.

    iDMSS won't connect remotely

Hi, did you open all your ports that you need? Try opening http, tcp port and RTSP port. And some cell providers like AT&T and Verizon blocks the default RTSP 554, so change that to another and see if that helps. RTSP is needed for hikvision, not sure about dahua.
  14. Hi, I have seen this happen alot. Your model is the 32 ch and you are using external POE right? By default the UPNP of the camera is on, so your router automatically port forwarded one of the camera's 8000 server port (which are the same as the NVR by default), and when you connect to it using port 8000 and your external IP, it will also be to that one camera. two ways to fix this. 1 . turn off UPNP in your router. OR 2. set different port numbers for your NVR, then use the new server port number in your iVMS 4500 app and you should connect to the NVR which should display 5 cameras. example: set the NVR's port to 90(http) ,9554 (rtsp),9000 (server) and put 9000 in ivms4500. Hope it helps, let me know if you need more help. in the app, the camera number is automatically set by the device. since your device it connected is the camera itself, it will always be 1.
  15. Try VLC player or Media Player Classic.
  16. I don't know if this would help, but I figure out some of the settings and what they mean after days of tinkering. Worked with LTS platinum series 32 ch NVR Server IP or Name: this was the IP of the computer running the POS's DVR server Server Port: I left this alone, and did not input it anywhere on my NVR. did not open it in router. DVR type: left as TCP/IP DVR com port: left as 1 Camera ID: left as 1, they say its according to your station ID but I only had 1 station( I ran CRE trial software only though). DVR's IP: local IP of my NVR. DVR IP port: I put 10000 because that was the port number in the POS setting of my NVR, did not have to port forward. (this took a long time to figure out because I did not know if they refer to the http/rtsp/server or whatever port...pcamerica's guide lead me to believe it was the Server port which was 8000 for the NVR, but it wasn't) Format: i used plain text only. I also had to turn on the Text Show button in the NVR to see it live. but it was still recording all the POS info even with the button off. I have also emailed the pcamerica tech support, they actually told me it did not work with NVR.
  17. Depends on what POS system he is using, I have gotten the LTS Platinum series NVR to integrate with pcAmerica's Cash Register Express POS, but only that vendor, and with only 1 POS station...and it was at my home on my PC with the POS software running and not an actual cash register.... so it might not be helpful in your real life situation. but for your $500 budget their lowest end NVR with no HD itself will cost half of that. ( I think only the higher end models have the POS too) A majority of the integration will depend on the POS system unless you use a text inserter box.
  18. If you are replacing analog camera with analog camera...they can use the same cable. Yea just replace the camera. But you're not going to see a big upgrade unless you go either HDSDI or IP. If you ran coax already you can upgrade to hybrid SDI system (have to change DVR though) or hybrid IP system (use ethernet over coax adapter if you keep the cable) since you are just changing 3 of the cameras.
  19. Could be not enough power per camera? Does it only go offline at night when the IR comes on? Or too much bandwidth...some PoE switches are only 100 Mbps but if you put like 16 cameras in....

    HD-SDI max. cable lenght

Hi typically you can use RG59 or pre-made cables designed for HD-SDI. Distance is about 200-300 ft...after that you will have to get a HDSDI extender, but it requires another power source for the extender..then it get be extended another 300 ft.

e-mail from Dahua NVR not working

Hmm I had it happen before, but that was cause I forgot to put in the DNS information under network. But since you have it working remotely that might not be the case.
  22. Just wondering if anyone knows a microphone without amplifier that can be used with this camera. I am using a cctv mic that seems to output Line level signal (its a dc 12 v powered mic with amplifier from the product description) , but after some quick searches (and personal testing) I get a ton of distortion when spliced with the Mic +/ Mic - /Mic Ground of my camera (I cut the RCA female input of the mic and spliced mic + to the yellow cable and mic - + mic ground to the black cable). with this kind of connections Line level output microphone + Mic level input camera = distortion (I can still hear my voice though, but not good at all) so now I'm trying to find a mic level output microphone + mic level input camera = hoping for good results (I believe these sort of mics do not need to be powered either?) There's also a Line out and line ground cable on my Camera, those should go to speakers I think? Thanks for any suggestions! This is a Hikvision IP camera http://www.hikvision.com/en/Products_show.asp?id=8724 DS-2CD2732F-I(S)
  23. Thank you Bueullwinkle! I logged into the camera directly, and there was an option to change the audio input (Either Line in or Mic in). Default was set to Line-in, so my mic with amp should have no problem, maybe just because the place I connected had so much other electrical device (it was a demo room and 2 tvs ) that I got a lot of noise. (and it was one of those $4 mics...)
  24. I'm hoping its firmware issue, but my guy bought 4 identical IP cameras, 3 of them have the substream option under video settings, just 1 doesn't. It still records, but live view in a 3 x 3 configuration, camera 1 is missing since there's no substream (literally when I click the drop-down menu, it only shows 'Main stream' while others will have both). Watching it online if I select substream I get 'Live view failed' but works when I pick main stream. He's going to dismount it then bring it in and I'll see if a firmware upgrade/factory default helps. Just wondering if anyone experienced something like this?
  25. I will try that too! Thanks I actually had one camera that is missing the main stream, will try it with him too. Mindtwist: I only had access to the NVR web interface since he was using all internal PoE and had no laptop to plug to the switch. Thank you for your suggestion !
