I have a Dahua IPC-HFW3300C that has been malfunctioning at night and wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue or come up with a solution. At night, the IR emitters flash on and off. Not sure if this is an issue with the light detecting sensor or the IR lights themselves, but it would be nice to not have a flashing picture at night. Daytime use works fine. Before I break open the camera body and poke around, wanted to see if there is an easy solution. If I could just have the IR on all the time that would be fine. Running 2.420.0000.0.R, build : 2014-04-14 firmware and I don't see any settings that might apply. Thanks in advance!

School me on options other than IPC-HDBW4300E

For example maybe this camera: http://www.amazon.com/Dahua-IPC-HDBW4421E-Megapixel-Network-Security/dp/B015ESQDGW/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8 -
I have one of these deployed today which I bought on AliExpress a year or 2 ago. Works well, no issues and like the form factor. Would like built in audio (microphone) but I don't see that often in this form factor. Since there are so many options and they are always changing, I thought i'd ask the group if there are any new models (dahua, hikvision) that are similar in size but much better function? Price range under $200 I suppose. thanks! this is the camera: https://tinyurl.com/zjbuu27

I did not, currently I ignore it but the only fix I'm looking at when I get around to it is replacement. Not worth the time otherwise to try and do more to it. Works fine during the day

Unfortunately none of the settings seem to help the constant flashing of the IR lights on the camera. Oh well.
-
Thanks I'll give BLC mode a try tonight!
-
I tried setting to night only on the Dahua camera itself (my NVR doesn't control the camera itself) and the IR lights still flash all night long regardless of settings on the camera. I think in addition the IR filter may be flashing as well, I need to get close to listen for the click. Either way it's not working well at night. Changing exposure to a longer amount of time seems to limit the frequency of flashing. Oh well, I might take it appart and mess with it or i may just order something new and repurpose it to a daytime only location. The HIK stuff is so cheap its not worth messing with an old camera for too long.

Thanks, that is a good idea. Unfortunately Dahua doesn't allow a dynamic schedule so I'll have to adjust it a few times per year but hopefully forcing night mode stops the flashing. Will see tonight.

Do we know if this firmware also works for the IPC-HFW3300C? The PAL version posted earlier seemed to cover a large range of cameras, but before I brick mine I thought I'd double check
-
No, no reason to have 30fps or even 25, you are correct. I did seem to see some new buttons and knobs but I could be imagining things
-
I'll second the using your phone idea. In fact I'm going to try using this scenerio: Blue Iris on my home server Setup the Iphone app to stream video (broadcast actually) to the server where it is recorded replay as needed There are a few issues - bandwidth being one (though LTE is great around here) and extra battery cycles by using it all the time. So maybe it's not a great idea.
-
Upgrade worked fine on all cameras, however as I suspected the FPS dropped from 30 to 25fps using the PAL firmware. Just an FYI for anyone else to wants to use this file.
-
Oh - my mistake. I thought PAL was 25FPS for some reason. I'm using 1920x1080 on my 3300c. That list doesn't explicitly mention the 3300c - will that work or not sure? 3300C Thanks for the help.
-
So with PAL i'd lose some FPS? Probably best to stick with the NTSC versions if someone has them thanks

I have several Dahua cameras that I'd like to update if possible, I have paged through many threads about firmware but haven't found newer versions than these. If anyone has info about newer firmware I'd love to know. NTSC 1. IPC-HFW3300C 2.100.0000.6.R, build : 2012-05-07 2. IPC-HDB3200C 2.103.0000.0.R, build : 2012-07-24 3. IPC-HFW2100 2.100.0000.8.R, build : 2012-05-23 thanks much

I have the following available from a recent order and the testing I posted on this site a few weeks ago. The below are extras, all new in box (the units I tested I actually installed and kept in place) and ready to ship. These are branded k&d but are of course Dahua: 1. mini-bullet, 720p, IR, outdoor, POE, 6mm $145 http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hd2100--22.html 2. mini-dome, 1080p, outdoor, POE, 3.6mm $160 http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hdb3200c--17.html 3. 3MP bullet, IR, POE, outdoor 3.3-12mm, $299 http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hfw3300c--15.html 4. 3MP IR dome - $279 http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hdbw3300--14.html 5. mini-dome 720p, 8mm, $145 (same as #1) Shipping would be $10 to $15 depending on what is ordered. Please email me directly if you are interested - peter.cannell@gmail.com. cheers.

Dahua Bullet Sagging (IPC-HFW-3200C or 3300C)

I've seen the same, was thinking of locktight on that screw to keep it a little tighter. Sucker is heavy. -
PoE Switch Recommendations for Dahua IP Cameras
salesguy replied to Dr3am's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
That sounds identical to the cisco/linksys switch I have - 2 gig uplink ports which is great, and turbine-like fans that run regardless of temp LOL -
posted on ebay, will sell for $30 shipped to any member who wants (just contact me directly, don't bid on ebay) I use this on a POE switch I bought on ebay that did not come with a power supply. It provides more than enough power for plenty of cameras and can power robust switches. http://www.ebay.com/itm/150936709929?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Cheers.

ONVIF security issue.
salesguy replied to MiloSZ's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
just out of curiosity I checked that login against my Dahua cameras and it does not work. I also changed the default passwords for all the default users for each of my cameras, but it wasn't the first thing I did so it's easy to overlook. Dahua's come with 3 default accounts so go login and change those default passwords! -
Now that is a sick bike. It weighs the same as my cbr600 with twice the power. I also think it might be a long wait for parts if something breaks But nice choice, not something you see everyday.
-
That is a sweet looking bike. I bet it sounded amazing. The other bike that has my eye is the BMW S1000RR, if I were buying a bike new, that would likely be the one. It's hard to ignore how great a deal used bikes are and how easy it is to work on hondas (as are other bikes like the R1 I'd bet).
-
currently shopping around now actually. My first was a CBR600 that I bought used, and put 18,000 miles on in about 2 years. Loved it. Now I'm looking at a bunch of stuff, but will likely settle on a CBR1000RR with ABS if I can find one used. Ideally I'd have 2 or 3 bikes, but there isn't room in the garage...

When I was younger and in one piece, cycling, and a giant TCR-SL limited. Now, motorcycles.
