update 2 downloaded latest version of firefox and back to static image again. did a bit of research and there seems to be an issue with firefox 4. I somehow had an older version on the computer that I was unaware of and somehow opened it when I clicked a link while researching this problem. Abandoned firefox Same issue with google chrome. ocx error I typed the address into the IE again and noticed that it appended view2.html to the address. changed that to view1.html and got asked errors for saying can not connect. suspecting they were ocx errors or activx errors i added the address of the dvr (the internet one) to the trusted sites list in IE and lowered the criteria for activx scripting bingo. video streaming on IE now. dont know if this will help anyone, but the the source of my problem seems to be the 'view1 and view2 tags. I still have a problem with the android phone streaming. I noticed that view3.html is added to the address on the android. this is a 'cut down' version of what can be seen on the computer screen. I changed that on the address bar on my phone and got ocx error. Any thoughts on how to install ocx on android phone? If I solve it myself I will update here.

Update, entered my addresses in firefox and the camera came up live showing the clock hands moving using the local network. It also came up live when i entered the 86.xxxx.xx:8080 into firefox. the quadrant with the live camera had cam1 and the time and date, which was not on in IE. I thought I had solved the problem. called my brother and asked him to log on to the address I gave him, using firefox. unfortunatly he still got the static clock. I tried it on my android phone and got the static picture as before. looks like brouser issue

Hi all, I'm new here and was asked to fit a cctv system and dvr by a customer, (I usually fit satellite dishes) He supplied the kit (NO NAME and instructions in 'chinese') consisting of 4 ir cameras and a dvr , some cables but no hard drive and I did not fit one. He wants to view cameras from mobile or remote computer. I'm fairly sure I have the router , ports etc configured correctly because I can get an image on a remote computer http:// 86.xxx :8080 using IE and on an android mobile phone http://86xxxx:8080 and on the internal wireless network 192.168.xxx:8080. I have set up a 'static' IP at no-ip so I dont actually have to use all the numbers to log in and it keeps tabs on the dynamic ip and keeps it updated. I have the dvr connected to a tv and I have live streaming video from the 1 camera connected. The problem iswith the remote viewing its a static image. If I refresh the page using IE, on the local, or remote computer. Or refresh on the android, it will show a new, up to date image, which will stay on the computer screen until I refresh it again. On the computer screen there are 3 icons at the bottom of each camera quad, and a series of numbers <|5|156.3mb|1.0>. the 156mb varies and the 1.0 appears to be time since the dvr was last reset. A 'mountain' which increases the chosen screen to full size, a 'refresh' one which does not seem to do anything and one that looks like a 'rat'. this rat icon alternates between a rat and sometimes a clock will show for a fraction of a second. Clicking on the rat will change that quad to black, the mb number in brackets becomes static and the rat changes to 2 arrows, one pointing up, one down, clicking this arrow again will refresh the screen with a current still image. I have the camera pointed to a clock with sweep hand so I know the movements. The signal to the tv monitor is live and streaming The image does not stream on the local wireless network or the internet so I' suspecting there is something preventing the video from streaming. I have seen posts about activx problems but I never get asked for a permission. I have followed the instructions for allowing unsigned activx scripts without signature with prompt, but still no requests to download one. Sorry for long saga but I figured I would put in as much info as possible to maybe save some 'basic' troubleshooting. Its probably something very basic, but any help would be really appreciated.
