  1. There might be other issues too. Why not using a NVR? What IP cams are you using? The simplest way is to change to standalone, PSS supported DVR Settings problems. Possible, but you need at least a 3rd service including a dialup modem&dedicated server to send pictures.
  2. I don't think you can plug the directly. You got a multimeter? Measure between ALARM OUT GND and ALARM OUT. You either get a small control voltage (+5 or +12V) or, most commonly, there is a relay in there that will give you continuity and you'll have to power the siren using external power. BTW, I would never rely on a camera to give direct altert to a siren.
  3. I think in this case the PoE was externally/3rd party used.
  4. Do you have the same lag when you connect directly to the cameras?
  5. What models/units are you using?
  6. Ground loops and/or potential differences between grounds.
  7. 9989 is not a port used in stable DAHUA firmware releases. You should review that, as it might expose a security flow in your camera.
  8. What format did you upload?
  9. How are the products handled? Do you use unique labeling on them?
  10. No, a web server/app + analytic app running on your PC. The web part will allow anyone to easyly remote connect from (almost) any device and configure/search etc.
  11. What would you guys say to a web-based solution, rather than a standard, standalone application?

    Dahua firmware

Yes, it did with newer versions, but on mid-level NVRs. My advice: keep a close-contact with your seller.
  13. This is not an issue. Those are settings for the compression/encoding. Settings for actions on motion detect are on events/detect page.
  14. What are the bitrate settings for Main and Extra stream? Also, I suppose you connect wirelessly. How good is the signal?
  15. Does it close iDMSS or just the connections to NVR? Any chance of network outages/skips? Can you try with less cameras?
  16. Directly from source (unless you got cloned/counterfeit products): http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hdb3200c--17.html http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hdb4300c-382.html And others...
  17. Can you playback recordings from NVR on your gDMSS? Is extra stream recording activated?
  18. IPC-HDB3200C is based on Sony Exmor. IPC-HDB4300C is based on Aptina So, if you want better 3MP quality, probably IPC-HDB3300/IPC-HDBW3300 would've suit you.
  19. Can you playback recordings from NVR? Also there should be a menu (in DMSS) that lets you subscribe to events.
  20. A simple case of "you got what you paid for"?
  21. No, I meant the software you linked to... The NCR!
  22. What's the actual recording resolution of that software? It's named HD and uses a VGA resolution?! Or did I miss something?
  23. Touring would require a Project with multiple Tasks. @shockwave199: DSS is a Distribuited Surveillance System. In a single-user/single PC mode will complicate things...
  24. DSS is way more complicated then PSS, and I would not recommend it for normal/non-distribuited installations.
  25. If you just want to see them all, use a Monitor Task. If you want to tour, use Monitor Tasks + Monitor Project. You can configure them via Scheme Task Config in Settings menu. Also, you can modify the general options and just remember the monitor layout. You can add a channel to a monitor task if you right click on the window of the video.
