  1. This info should be confidential and not thrown away on any website that is on the Internet. It's just like an invitation to problems... If all the security personnel would disclose "inside" info so easy, what would happen? Besides, that is a DAHUA internal confidential document, only to be used by qualified people!
  2. 3208 will decode/display up to 8 channels and record: -a total of 8 D1 cameras at 25/30 fps/ch -a total of 8 720p cameras at 25/30 fps/ch -a total of 8 1080p cameras at 12/15 fps/ch -a total of 4 1080p cameras at 25fps/ch That's an OR between the elements of the list!
  3. The main stream is the high quality 720P H264 stream that is used to record any motion detection or continuous by the Surveillance Station. The sub stream is used in the Live View screen and makes it possible to view the cameras remotely without it dropping frames (The Surveillance Station can theoretically allow you to view 49 Cameras simultaneously but I highly doubt it could, I have it showing 6 at a time and will probably drop it to 4) For my own info, isn't it able to display the main stream(not the extra)?

    NVR Causing Home Network Issues

Directly to router or via switch? If directly, try to put a switch between.

    Dahua firmware

There isn't a file to delete. What you "see" through telnet is the uncompressed version residing in RAM. Even if you manage to modify it, all changes will be lost at reboot.
  6. Yes, ONVIF do make devices more compatible, but you should keep an eye on the version of the OnVif that they are compatible with (just like older USB). As for compatibility, it's a just a test&go (the best way for the most equipment).
  7. If motion is for 1 sec, for example, the device will record at least X seconds (the min value should be 5 seconds).
  8. Best is CBR, 8000 (custom), 25fps, highest resolution. Anti-dither, for now, works as a "smallest size of a recording". Please be aware that motion detection uses differences between frames, so light changes, wind, even some pixel changes during compression can trigger a motion detect. Also, try to set it to 6 to see what happens.

    Q-SEE NVR QC804

Firmware is the same for a whole category of products (let's say, the 4-8-16 NVRS). But the drivers, softwares and others work based on the hardware they currently run. Ok, you got a good point, that hardware is cheap. But you usually pay for hardware or software? If you only pay for hardware, phones and others should be damn cheap
  10. Please understand that FTP/SMB/any storage protocol is usefull only in a backup situation, due to control&security reasons. Why? Well, simple facts: 1. a NVR will not allow you to delete any file you want (either format the whole HDD or do nothing) 2. a NAS has a "public" filesystem, while the DAHUA has a proprietary filesystem - harder to alter the recordings 3. a NVR will keep a connection up with the camera, manage it, log it, alert on problems - a NAS will only store, when the camera makes a request DAHUA's economy products are professional products made available to mainstream. What you think of a limitation it's actually a security feature.
  11. Be sure to check the CBR/VBR settings for both general and motion stream!
  12. " title="Applause" /> expensive shipping! as a side not, this is not an official DAHUA website
  13. It can't and won't work on FTP, due to limitations of the FTP protocol. First, there's no provision in the FTP protocol for querying the amount of free-space on a FTP server. Secondly, it's not a device controlled by DAHUA, so, as a safety measure, DAHUA will not tinker with it; DAHUA doesn't agree to delete files in an uncontrolled system As a side note, FTP should be used as a backup, not as a main storage point.
  14. FYI, Onvif on 9988 port on DAHUA was used in a test version of the firmware. So you can't be sure on how it's connected and supported. I reiterate it (): the image is the same, same colours(so no filter involed), but with a difference in resolution!
  15. Synology Surveillance Station... what are the settings you used to it? maybe it uses RTSP/general protocol Detail dropping would result in less framerate, but main frames will be at high res... you have a low res there (or in "artefacts" at display image level) Does the Synology use general RTSP or proprietary DAHUA protocol? If it uses general, then you can expect errors, as in any other product delivering via RTSP.
  16. how did you capture the images? first one seems an extra stream capture and second a mainstream capture...
  17. they do have watchdogs on every equipment, with a timeout of about 2 minutes but, also, the reboot can be ok if, for example, you have your equipment setted up remotely, with no access, and someone is bruteforcing its passwords (so you are in a lockout situation); and there are more situations than can arise

    HFW2100N Please Help

I suspect a bad rtsp url
  19. Modify the monitor options of user default, setting only the cameras you want to view.
  20. press ADD, input the device number/id from the general settings of the DVR and then press OK; default is 8/008
  21. bad password inputed in PSS...try to delete the device and add it again... also, use the latest version of PSS

    HFW2100N Please Help

Can be your PC's hardware or some software settings. Run IE with admin rights, from the X32 directory of Program Files. or Install Quicktime and try to see it on Chrome/others. Also, does your PC support FullHD decoding and displaying? Maybe your video card has some problems (or the drivers)
  23. tool version? firmware version? and yes, there is serial... nice feature, but can brick your camera fast, if you don't know what you are doing (as a parallel, how often do you flash your PC/LAPTOP's BIOS with files from anywhere? it's somehow the same thing)
