For DAHUA you cand use the 3216 standalone NVR or you can make a recording task using PSS for Windows/Linux or Mac (but i recommend a dedicated, non-shared PC) -

Dahua camera lens options
dexterash replied to destro_23's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Be carefull about the quality/resolution of the lens. On a PAL/NTSC/D1 resolution, quality is less important, but on a MP system it is. To get my point, on a digital camera or on a video recorder, the optics are always the ones that make a difference, right? So this happens to CCTV too. -

dexterash replied to guy999's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Why not a much much simpler solution? A mediaplayer with Android and gDMSS installed? -
Decent for what application? Also, why don't you try to but from a local reseller, rather eBay? We're talking about security here, not eBooks.

Delete WEBREC folder in Program Files for Active X Delete PSS folder in Program Files for PSS problems. Anyway, doesn't your local DAHUA sales channel offer you any support?

You can view DAHUA's DVRs/NVRs and IPCs using PSS for MacOS!

gave you that link to read about DAHUA's policy and no, BAHAMAS Security has no public firmware
-
go to users settings, then "default" (this is the user that automatically logins when you power up the dvr), go to permission and uncheck monitor_whateverchannel you want
-
You may find here and there firmwares, but be advised: http://www.dahuasecurity.com/news/statement-on-purchasing-dahua-technology-products--66.html

Seems DAHUA. But you know you will not get any support nor firmware updates from DAHUA, right?

There is a separate section in web client to setup DNS on DAHUA. You can find it in the left list, almost near bottom.
