looking for a VMS software with very low latency
dexterash replied to shanef's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Ok, can we get back to the subject? As in "unidentified" IP cameras and good performance? Can we focus o that? -

need suggestion for system to display cameras only
dexterash replied to billkater's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
IMHO, the "cheapest" solution is one that works out-of-box, with no interaction from you or from the client. A laptop could crash at any time, might require maintenance or else. Most good branded devices (and used my most) will work unattended for months or years, since they have a simple job and they are dedicated for that job. -

dexterash replied to shanef's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Usually, the "latency" depends on the speed of the network, not on the device itself. Most dedicated NVRs will do close-to-realtime decoding. In time-critical conditions, there are alternative MegaPixel solutions (not IP-based). -

Get a TRUE/REAL NVR(one with an HDMI output) that's compatible with the cameras or a NVD(network video decoder). Both should boot directly to the viewing/monitoring screen, with no user interaction. -

I offered you a simple solution(even if just for testing). Can't investigate further when you know better than others what your real problem is... -

New Dahua 4K - 12MP camera - IPC-HF81200E
dexterash replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It might work from inside if: -you have good or very good lightning outside -you can find a way to minimize reflections of/from the window (or example, an indoor bulb/TV at night) BOX cameras can be mounted outside using a dedicated case, with or without IR. -

What cameras (brand/model) are you using? What protocol do you use for connection? -

Your IP might be NATed by your provider. You should call and ask them. -
How to integrate with Dahua DVRs and NVRs
dexterash replied to kmax1940's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
But the DVR is not analogue and it sends a video stream, although it isn't RTSP (or not very well supported). -

Well, I can't post here a full solution(as if I was doing your job and wanted to lose my job ). You have to transcode/recode the video. -

No source needed. Start from their SDK that's free on the web. -
How to integrate with Dahua DVRs and NVRs
dexterash replied to kmax1940's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Does IMMIX directly support DAHUA? If not, you'll have to write a 3rd party plugin/software that will link/transcode from DAHUA's format to IMMIX supported format (that is, from getting config of the DVR to getting the video and audio stream). First, you'll have to find out if IMMIX can be extended with additional plugins and find out the specs/docs/API. From there on, you should bridge IMMIX client/push-client with DAHUA's SDK. -

What do you mean by "integrating"? With what you want to integrate? Via which protocol(s)? What should be available besides video feed? -

How to publicly display ip cams?
dexterash replied to shawn3090's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Depends on what they do, how many channels they display and at what resolution - you can compare the price with the cost of a PC that can do the same thing. I suppose you need a standalone, non user-interactive solution that doesn't rely on you or others to start some software, power it on, boot it ect... -

dexterash replied to shawn3090's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Search for a NVD - Network Video Decoder or Standalone Video Client. That should suit you well. Are the cameras ONVIF certified? -
Before even selecting the models, have you computed/designed the network that should support them? What bandwidth/camera you used in your calculus? Also, the "monitoring" station is a recording station too? Are you sure you will be able to handle all of those without the need of a distributed CMS/storage solution? What are your monitoring and playback requirements? Do you plan to include VA(analytics) too?

Dahua/Hikvision NVR PoE/non-PoE / HDCVI over Lorex/Q-See
dexterash replied to robextra's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Depends on many factors, starting with cable type/connectors and finishing with local electric noise(a problem that doesn't affect IP, for example).
