    VMS with Mobile Audio?

Why not use a NVR? Less fuss, less power, more stability and, for sure, all sorts of functions that will work out-of-box.
  2. Depends on local electricity costs. In some locations, the difference of power consumption between a NVR and a PC-based NVR will pay for the NVR in an year or so...
  3. The idea of stitching images together/dynamically zooming on them seems interesting, but the multiple-user low-bandwidth issue would not be solved, nor much bandwidth will be saved - due to compression algorithms. From my point of view, the best approach is to use an off-site server/service that will restream the low-bandwidth one.
  4. Stop the ONVIF software for a while and check the logs of the cameras to see if they still reboot. Also, are you sure they are rebooting and the a network outage/connection dropping down?
  5. NFS is (usually) a Linux based protocol, used between servers for mounting remote file systems and is not supported by Windows. You need a dedicated NFS server(via Linux or Windows) What are you trying to do?
  6. Hello This is our solution(still under development): http://evosec.eu:8080/demo/ Low - PAL resolution, approx 2Mbps from camera to our hardware. High - FullHD resolution, approx 8Mbps from camera to our hardware. We thought of the liberty of letting the customer decide what camera to watch. We plan a map-type/location choice in the future!
  7. Your best bet is, as you proposed, a SMTP Proxy/trap. I *think* you could also try to hardware cut the Internet connection based on a schedule, but the out buffer on the devices will fillup and pose all sorts of problems. The NVR/IP Camera can do detection based on a schedule, but it will not buffer the events and upload them at a specified time; it's either real-time or no-time.
  8. You must use a NVR or Camera with Alarm IN option.

    PTZ Dropping

You can measure the current and compare it with the max current that the camera should need. If it's close to the max, something isn't ok at the powerline.

IR camera? First of all, measure the voltage at the camera (what arrives) with IR on(if has) and also while moving/controlling it.
  11. Thanks, I just tried that, it is a bit more accurate, than my method. (I think my estimate of 9 minute files was just a bit high, they are really somewhere between 8 and 9 minutes. But, I got similar results with the Hikvision disk calculator. It said my one camera could record for 19 days on a 1 TB drive. So that means just over two days if you were recording on 1 TB drive space with 8 cameras. Imagine you are watching a movie. How much does an 1.5 hour movie take at BlueRay/FullHD Quality? Your best bet is 3.6GB/hour for FullHD in surveillance. VBR will/might make you lose important frames in motion.
  12. RasPi can be setup as a network client for many devices. Check TaniDVR as a client.
  13. Distribuitor is China based? How did you but the product? HIK is a somehow big company(compared to titans like Samsung and Bosch)... they support their legit distribuitors, but they cut off any support if the seller is not factory-approved...
  14. Is your camera directly supported by Synology (verify mode, name, fw version)? Does it reboot if you view it live using IE/Chrome or DAHUA's mobile/PC app? I suspect an incompatibility between the client-side software of Synology and this camera.
  15. Are you using a NVR or a NAS (like Synology/QNAP)?
  16. Are you sure it's sent wireless? Over what band and what bandwidth does it use? Are those general/public use bands? What error-corrections algos are applied?
  17. Well... at least you could test the white/black one too .
  18. 90% that's your problem!
  19. Is the inside of the sun screen white or painted black?

    NVR dahua vs hikvision

Just be very carefull about your PC so it can decode all your FullHD Channels, since you might want/require syncronised playback of several FullHD/HD channels.
  21. Why not just use a multimeter? Even the cheapest/handy one. Or borrow one.
  22. HF3300 are box cameras with no IR, nor lenses. How did you connect the IRs to the cameras?
  23. Depends on your Android hardware, Android drivers and that device. The (lucky) chances are 99% no and 1% yes.

    DVR and Iphone

Post your DVR name and model, for better answers.
  25. A NAS has limited functionality. Do they share the same ISP? How do they connect to it?
