Dvr 2000 Board other use software
Thomas replied to quante's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You pretty much are out of luck there. If the manufacture doesn't have an upgrade to the software and Luxriot doesn't support it then you are out of luck. -
At least in the United States there will be some problems with Broadband over powerlines. The current generation of BoP generates a ton of RF interferance. Enough is generated to make Ham Radio unusable. Given the role that Ham radio operators play in emergency services the FCC is going to have to determine which is more important.

Satellite Internet Transmission Cameras

Not much. But two thoughts to ponder: 1. Power the DVR as it's being built? 2. Shelter to said DVR? -

Generally you will find the bandwith sucks. Low bandwith combined with high latency. -
Oh, I'm sure it will be out before Duke Nukem Forever.

From what I've heard from dealers, 5k would be extremely competative with ADT. What I might find hard is using good products and making my budget at 5k, let alone margin.

Try again from Geo's site.

It can also be issues for looking for data for variables that is missing due to .ini file or registry error. -
The vibration is going to suck but you won't be able to use the cheap wireless gear for it.

It's nothing new. I remember Quake beating the crap out of my P100. -

For some applications it makes a huge differance. I'm a gamer and when I'm playing World of Warcraft I notice the jump from 512 to 1 GB. But it's a ram hungry app. -

If the system is only using 400 mb of ram (active) and you have 512 mb total...you won't be hitting the swap file. Just turn it off and look at your usage. Most DVR apps aren't ram hungry, they are CPU thirsty. -

Unless you're a hardcore gamer or DB admin then 1GB is overkill. 512 is ample with most video apps. -
Speakeasy has an plan where they set you up as a mini-wifi ISP. Your neighbors pay $20, you get $10, Speakeasy gets $10.
-
They do, you can still get it in most places they don't offer *DSL or cable.

Has the client looked into ISDN?

Move it to a second network, add NICs to the bosses machines and then pass back the port forwarding onto the second network for remote access. But how the hell are they flooding a lan connection?
-
Eh, I don't think it's MSRP that the net is going to kill but the distributor part of the food chain. They are the only part of the chain that doesn't add much value but they do add markup. So either the price of CCTV gear goes down, or companies raise margin by killing a link in the chain.
-
That makes it sound like a network bottleneck...and twelve NIC's won't help with that. Or does Geovision use that much bandwith?

Rory, IE is removable from WinXP. It's not fun, and isn't a task I recommend. But it is doable. -

Also: Type of Encoding (since you can use a simple encoding and use alot less resourcesd.) -
I wasn't refering to Wi-fi based systems, I was refering the wireless cameras. And as it stands right now, consumer grade wireless systems simply can not be made secure. There are too many issues in the designs of wireless security right now.

Why not use a real keyboard + controller?
