    Older Dahua DVR

Hehe neither of those keywords turned anything up. I'm not surprised really. I have an email in to mace, we'll see if they respond or if 8 year old DVR's aren't important anymore Thanks for all your help everyone. Still fussing with this thing.
  2. Hey guys, I hope the answers to these questions aren't posted anywhere else, I tried to search very well. I'm an IT guy (sysadmin, programming and web marketing) and one of my clients I just started working for has needs in the DVR area. He has many older Mace DVR's, various ones but the same he gave me as a sample is a DVR0804RW. He has 16 channel dvr's as well. The webrec web interface doesn't seem to work for me, always displays a red X in the browser. I've tried various versions and iterations of PSS and while they can connect to my DVR, when I try to display live video I Just get a blank window and no kbps data movement. Interestingly, when I connect to one of his DVR's (but not others) everything works great. There's clearly some interesting stuff going on with firmware versions, etc. Does anyone have a source for updated firmware for this dvr? I know it's old but the firmware I have on there is from 2004 so it's really old . This old mace remote client software works for all of his DVR's but not the one he gave to me! I'm quite confused what could be up. I know it's listening on port 37777. Is this an unsupported combo? Does anyone have a pointer to kind of a Dahua overview of what you can expect to work with what. Is my DVR "protocol version 1" while PSS seems to support "protocol version 2". Do all the current versions of PSS only support like the qsee dvr's or very new ones? Has anyone gotten TaniDVR to work? Thanks for any help or insights! This chinese dvr market is insane.
