Hi All, does anyone know if the process as shown in this thread http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7369 would also work for the next model up? I have a hard drive that i know works in a DVTU model and a SATA convertor... but i want to change the cruddy 160Gb hd for a 1Tb one... any advice would be appreciated Cheers Sp00ks

Excellent. So just install the new drive and put the upgrade CD, format all drives and that should be ok yeah?

Hey treborsz.... you are coming to my rescue again LOL!! So are you saying i just need to put the new hard drive in DVR and then follow the procedure shown on the document? I dont need to do anything with the drive first like previous DVR's?

Hi all, One of my first posts on here, and i am wondering if anyone knows how to reset the password on a DS2 M2IP 16C? I have bought one from eBay and like an idiot never asked if the passwords were reset and the seller is unable to help me now i have bought the unit! I have tried the older DS2 way, UPTOWN GIRL etc... but that doesnt seem to work Would changing the hard drive remove the password or is it stored on one of the main chips on the unit? Any help would be great! Cheers Sp00ks

also, if i format the I drive, which it appears is where the application and menu data is kept, how will i get this back on the unit? Sorry for all the questions, i am quite techy so have no problem in attempting this, i just dont want to end up with a brick LOL

I had a similar problem with mine and i had it plugged into a switch and i could not connect to it at all. I changed it to a direct connection to my modem/hub (Virgin media hub) and it worked straight away. Just an idea mate
