Remote viewing apple apps -always questionable.

These dvrs are MPEG4 and generally need active X with IE to view. Is there a work around for this in general with these mobile devices? I'm not an expert for this department, I'll admit -

After some googling I came across iDVR E series claims iPad support. It looks to be pretty pricey for what it is. Any comments appreciated -

Here's the problem. DVRs support an apple product for remote viewing. Apple upgrades iOS. DVR company doesn't follow suit, rendering the app unusable. How many times have you seen this? Any DVRs out there with a rep for keeping apps updated? Preferably H.264 with PTZ. Needing new company to buy from as well. This gets on my nerves. Any ideas? Any dedicated to iPad specifically? Much appreciated.
