Is there a special lenses needed for 940nm as i just spent £30 on one and my cams cant pick it up! nightmare as i need it working for over crimbo -
I went from cheap all in one cable to RG59 then i went out and got some good cat5e with genie balun. I also have a line down the screen when its low light. i sent an email to the guy i got it from and he said its my cables but ive changed them 3 times now making it an expensive run! The cam is : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300522960900?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 On my other cheaper no name cams the live view isnt as good as the recorded however the samsung is about the same with alot more noise, ive had ago at changing the settings. Also when i could get a better picture it was in colour (still very bad) its as if there was a spotting blur on movement the would follow them about, you couldnt make any detail on faces even the vari focal lense is very close to the faces. All recording settings are on max, i even tried own power supply etc. I got a 940nm IR but the bloody thing dont pick it up lol
-
This is on a samsung starlight cam though. I have a no name cam and its much better at night in the same spot. there are street lamps etc
-
Hi, what about fuzzy dots, what kind of noise is this and best way to solve it? Only happens at night but really quite bad Cams are 12v and power from a 5A 6 way power supply. No IR
-
Thanks i will give them settings ago tomo, I think AGC is already on low I just got my compression tool but in the meantime i have been useing screw on BNC could this be a problem? I also notice that my Cable isnt thick braid, its copper but possibly only 80% how much effect could this have on the picture? If im forced to get more cable if the braid isnt thick enough i may just cut my losses on the tools etc and get some baluns, i can get Genie baluns quite cheap, are these any good? just getting fed up with messing about, all i want is a clear solid picture day and night, I got a £140 camera the RG59 and all the tools needed, Tell me could the fact that the braid isnt thick enough have an effect? If so i may aswel get baluns and Cat5e Cheers

the picture quality at night i found quite poor, it stays on colour mode for too long and the picture quality isnt great however in the day its ok. I changed the cables to RG59 but hasnt made a great difference, what am i doing wrong? Should i scrap the RG59 and get Cat5? for the price of the camera im not all that happy All my cams are poor at night with fuzz (i dont know the term) not crisp and lots of dots

Repeated police reports, they still don't care. Help, please
Bullseye replied to SFBayArea's topic in General Digital Discussion
My cams are inside the window, try blackout the window behind the cam, this hides it a little better and prevents the reflection, I have no IR but Low lux cam. My picture quality isnt great at night but thats due to fuzz, changed the cable etc but still not changed anything -
H, yes thats exactly it 'I need to hide them' covvert cams really but i already have a covert sony effio and im not happy with the picture quality also i have another two coming from china which i regret spending £100 on a pinhole and small board cam I decided to hunt for a brand name to see if the picture quality is better, if im still not happy with the samsung im going to get rid of all and try get me a hybrid DVR I know i wont get the samsung completely covert but altleast i can hid it a little better without the shell, i can see there sexy cams and its a shame to take it away but its just the cam i need atm Isnt the spec much better with the SCC-B5368? Or is there not much in the picture quality? obviously as you have tried both cams, which has the better picture out of the two? P.s you sell these good by the way, you have me sold EDIT: I just went with the SCC-B5368P A1 SERIES only as i got it for £100 delivered, did i make the wrong choice? I just noticed 410/470 pixels, Is this not quite low? 1/3" Sony 410/470K pixels super HAD IT CCD 2.8~11mm auto-iris lens High resolution 600 TV Lines Min. lumination 0.00023LUX (F1.2, 15IRE, Sens-up 512x) Internal/Linelock (Phase control) function Day/night (soft), with sensitivity functions Advanced motion detection function Back light compensation High sensitivity in low luminance Digital image stabilisation Privacy mask function (mosaic-style) Intelligent video (moved/fixed/fence/area/tracking) 3 years Samsung warranty Power supply: 24Vac / 12Vdc ±10% Min. lumination: Colour 0.12~0.4 LUX (normal) or 0.00023~0.0008 LUX (sens. up) Operating temperature: -10°~+50°C; <90% humidity Image device: 1/3" Super-HAD IT CCD Scanning: 15625 Hz horizontal, 50 Hz vertical Privacy zones: 12 (polygonal mosaic) Motion detection: Off/On Zoom: Digital up to 16x Lens: 2.8~11mm tele/wide-angle Resolution: 600 TV lines S/N ratio: 52dB Video output: VBS 1.0V (p-p) Dimensions: 78 x 102mmà Weight: 330g

I also noticed a similar cam G7A samsung SCC-B5368P A1 SERIES, do you know it? a little more expensive I may go with one of them aswel if the SCD-2080P is all good and i can fix it without the shell. whats the digital zoom like? Again Result and thanks, much appreciated
-
Great, would yousay there is any better at that price? Also, or maybe i should start anothr thread but are there any ways to covert these? hide them etc, whats the size of these out of the shell?

Hi Im looking for covert cams i have an issue regarding seawolf cams, i come accross a couple on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221152489522?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1427.l2649 then i found some more: http://www.securitycamera2000.com/products/690TVL-Ultra-WDR-Pixim-SEAWOLF-HD-CCTV-Mini-Camera-3.6mm-Lens-OSD-Menu.html idealy i need pinhole but i know how ebay is and there is many fakes going about, i notice the shells are different, what do you guys think on these two? im in the UK so ebay cams will be better for the ordering side but as i say i worry about fakes etc Also what do you guys think of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221110252044?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-HD-700TVL-Effio-E-DSP-2-8-12mm-Manual-IRIS-Lens-Security-Color-OSD-Camera-/320917025440?pt=US_Security_Cameras&hash=item4ab82532a0

I notice on some other threads all there good for is objects that dont move, they have a slow shutter? Have you found problems with the clarity and face detail on movement?
-
Super low light camera at ISC West
Bullseye replied to cglaeser's topic in Trade Shows & Conferences
Yes, anymore info on this? Is it really no good at capturing the face on movement? -
http://ivisioncctv.en.made-in-china.com/product/eqPmCIkofMWi/China-Security-Mini-Camera-With-Starlight-Technology.html Trying to find similar, thinking about it if anyone can point me in the direction of the very best i would be much appreciated! Thanks twist, you opend my eyes, i had a little look around for yours in english but couldnt find it, perhaps there is new versions, low light versions is something i need as for now i wont be using and IR Is super HAD ll CCD better than effio?
-
Great, I will give this a go then Do you know of any cams of the same size that are better? these are only £55 so like you say a good price but if funds didnt matter whats the very best of this size? Many thanks for your info
-
Thanks for that, good info i was unaware of so a pinhold cam must stay a pinhole cam and the same with board lense cam, you can replace the size lense on a pinhole though yeh? At first i missunderstood you, i thought you was saying you cant focus a pinhole cam All in all these are good cams though? woud you say there better than sony effio E? Im finding the clarity isnt great Thanks
-
Great news, i will make an order shortly then although i just noticed there fromchina aswel There must be a way to fucus the pinhole? otherwise they just wouldnt work or sell? I have a sony pinhole on order, to be honest i really do need pinhole as these will be easier to hide

Hi Everyone, New to the site and cctv, I have had 2 previous DVR's that needed a return due to poor quality, i just wasnt happy with them, I now have a Robox HD 8 channle 1080p DVR first impression Great! 2 Cams are down and im stuck with just the 1 (new covert cams to be ordered) I have a sony effio E 700tvl and basic all in 1 cables (RG59 to be ordered with compression BNC) Now for my questions im confused as my picture quality isnt great, it started off ok but still not 100% happy, i thought/sure its just down to the cables I havent bothered with the DVR for over a week now, on my return to see some footage the playback picture quality has got slightly worse, for example the faces look water painted on movement and pause if you know what i mean? picture very grainy and is worse when i put the resolution to 1080p, It was grainy anyway but not quite as bad, its not got crisp edges etc I really do need quality, I know its just an entry level DVR £400 but im sure it should still give a much better picture Would the simple fact its an all in 1 cable have this much effect on the picture quality? i know it would have some Im about to spend another £200 on cable and a few cams but i cant have this quality i have now its no good, Any info/help would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the offer matey but really looking for a compression tool, you have one of them? I know i didnt get a very good deal and i paid extra for fast shipping so didnt do myself any favours and im sure there going to be rubbish, there was another from china same shell etc £23 but the Pal pixel was lower so i paid extra, i shop around online but couldnt find any to be honest at that price in the Uk my other cam is similar and i paid £34 delivered in the UK but he sold out and it was a special price from him (normaly £50), Can you point me in the direction as to where i can find these cams cheaper? Although even better if you could point me in the direction of the best cams like these, i need them to be small, i can fit the pinhole cams in the walls etc, Many thanks
-
In the spec of this cam i notice NTSC is greater than PAL: Specifications: Image Sensor: 1/3'' SONY Effio-E DSP CCD Pixel : PAL:976 (H)× 494(V) NTSC :976 (H) ×582 (V) I thought PAL wasa better, am i better off using NTSC setting on the DVR due to the fact the pxel is greater? Sorry for all the silly questions i really am new to all this, not as simple as i thought Thanks
-
I think i will go with shotgun RG59 just my opinion but looks a tad more tidy with 2 cables linked and i need to power close to the DVR, Isnt Compression BNC better than crimping? has a better seal and grip of about 60lb, so i read. Compression BNC's are a tiny bit more expensive, as i say im a little fussy but have looked all over online but cant find the conpression tool in the UK, silly really as the compression BNC's are all over the place with no tool to fit them, must keep the sales down. If i cant find any compression tools i wil go with the crimping set you suggested, thatnks for that I will have a 2.8 at the front top to observe the area and a 3.6 for the back I have ordered a covert cam with a big old 2.8-12 Varifocal lense attached. thanks for the info, i will see how i get on with the 2.8-12 to see what kind of distant lenses i will need for my other 5 cams, I dont have much idea on the exact sizes i need as havent seen much in action. My only trouble is they need to be covert so big domes etc are out of question, i would love a PTZ but will give it all away. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Super-Mini-700TVL-Effio-E-DSP-2-8-12mm-Manual-IRIS-MTV-Lens-FPV-Camera-OSD-WDR-/221110709450?pt=US_Security_Cameras&hash=item337b39acca bad choice im sure.

Oh well a couple of years and i may get me a HDSD They made out Robox HD is casino quality but its far from it! No IR and its quite new, no webs or anything Its strange sometimes its OK recording but thats all it is 'OK' and other times its just not acceptable i have noticed aspec in dark the live feed picture isnt as good as the recorded? still poor recorded sometimes its grainy other times you can see small dot movement, I cant get good face detail unless up real close, its a 3.6mm and just a metre away unless i know the face its no good sometimes for instance the dark outline of a car etc isnt of fine quality, not straight but the focus is all correct I just made an order of two china (i know bad choice) 700tvl WDR sony effio E and im going to order some RG59, i think its simpler than cat5? aspec as i cant use IP anyways Do any of you know where i can get a BNC compression tool in the UK? i cant find one anywhere!!! All in all im abit fussy and im not very happy with my picture quality but i guess what im after i need IP or in my case i would prefer HDSD I hope the new cable will fix the problem, i know the cams are basic but i have 5 more to buy so i will be spending my money there or is it not worth it? how much better picture quality could i get from a higher priced cam compared to china sony effio E? they do have quite a good spec on paper. I will be getting a covery Pixin seawolf aswel Thanks

Am i able to use an IP cam with my DVR or even HDcctv? i dont use it on a network. im not sure if its a hybrid, Can i just connect a HDcctv and have 1080p HD record quality or am i being silly and it will only record at a lower rate of D1? i was under the impression D1 was the best lol joining a forum late really hits you in the face! I have a HD series so i assume it would record at 1080p or is that just the monitor? I have had a little look at HDcctv 1080p, can i record this with mine? I have this DVR: Edit Thanks
