Hikvision 4K bullet cam - DS-2CD4A85F-IZ(H)(S)
LittleScoobyMaster replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Ditto. Do we know the street price for these 2 cameras? -
Thanks. If you have purchased a GV-NVR dongle to use with 3rd Party cameras, does the dongle need to be upgraded before installing GV-VMS?

OOOOOOO, how did you get hold of these? Eagerly awaiting your photos & videos of them!! Yeah, how did you do that? Do you have to be a distributor to get them already or are they out on the streets already? Any word on pricing? -
Hikvision 4K bullet cam - DS-2CD4A85F-IZ(H)(S)
LittleScoobyMaster replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Yeah, without bigger sensors, the low light problem will just get worse with higher resolution. Binning will help with low light, but then you lose the benefits of 4K. I'd assume these will need a higher bit rate and more powerful CPU to maintain decent compression. 4K won't be much improvement if it's over-compressed. How will these perform in the daytime with an area that has a very small amount of shadows? -

I'm thinking this 4k Hikvision dome should cost only $249. -

You can't even buy it, can you? I can't even find it for sale. I don't think it has been released yet. Next week is ISC West and this camera is supposed to be featured there so hopefully there will be a release date coming very soon. According to this road map, it is supposed to be out already, but I'm guessing this isn't 100% accurate: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CC0QFjAD&url=ftp%3A%2F%2F95.67.116.210%2FDISK_A1%2FNetwork%2520Camera%2520Presentation%25202015-1H.pptx&ei=I-AlVfLiAYXXsAW97YGoCw&usg=AFQjCNFW-wru_2GJEhhmPxjSB4GXM6tlvg&sig2=k4clASwRFPVy4Nb1Ix83GA This Hikvision 4K dome (DS-2CD4585F-I) looks even better. I hope someone does a review of it soon: http://bkeesti.ee/upload/Hikvision/DS-2CD4585F.pdf -
Yearly Check-In. Are thermal surveillance cameras cheap yet?
LittleScoobyMaster posted a topic in Security Cameras
Just checking to see if thermal surveillance cameras have entered the price point of the cctv hobbiest yet? What is the going rate for the lowest cost thermal imaging camera? Infra red is great, but I want thermal. I'll be back. -
Anyone successfully upgrade to GV-VMS from GV-NVR? Any major problems?
-
Thanks. I only have IP cameras now. I replaced my only remaining analog camera last year. So, now that I only have IP cameras, can I upgrade to GV-VMS from GV-NVR using the same GV-NVR dongle I purchased about a year or 2 ago? Or, do I need a new GV-VMS dongle? I found the upgrade videos on the Geo website but it doesn't mention if the GV-NVR dongles can run GV-VMS, etc. Has anyone who has been using GV-NVR completed this upgrade, if so, how did it go? As smooth as it does in the video I hope. http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/Prod_GVVMS.asp J-E8hztyh_M
-
Does that mean our GV-NVR dongles will allow us to run GV-VMS? I see there is a download available now for GV-VMS.

Hello. Is GV-VMS a replacement for GV-NVR?

New Dahua 4K - 12MP camera - IPC-HF81200E

Do they really have someone called Peter Pan working at Dahua? Must have had a tough school life I was wondering the same thing. -

LittleScoobyMaster replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Still trying to find out. I've e-mailed Dahua but they can be a little cryptic at times. I've asked for the MSRP price but they haven't provided that yet either, or the exact release date. We should get more info soon as it's due out this month. -
New Dahua 4K - 12MP camera - IPC-HF81200E
LittleScoobyMaster replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The one that we saw/tested was using H.264. We managed to decode it with SmartPSS, but there was some lag. DAHUA stated that they are developing a better SmartPSS version and a dedicated 4K NVR. Was the one you tested a box or bullet style cam? -
New Dahua 4K - 12MP camera - IPC-HF81200E
LittleScoobyMaster replied to LittleScoobyMaster's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I was trying to find that out as well but the Dahua general e-mail box was full last night. Hopefully they clear it out today so we can get some answers. If anyone has a more direct e-mail address, they might have better luck getting more info on this camera. -
What questions would you ask Hikvision R&D?
LittleScoobyMaster replied to HKuser's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It would be nice to be able to see my cams on my Sony PS4 as well. -

Guess it depends on the scenario. If you were doing a new roll out where you wanted to use all 4k cameras versus just having a few 4k cams deployed in key areas, etc. For an existing location you could just slowly phase in a couple 4k cameras here and there without having to upgrade too much hardware. For my home system, I just want to add two 4k cameras, the rest would remain 3mp for now. Is it the P1428-E you're waiting for? Did they say why they haven't sent it yet? That one was supposed to be available last month. Was hoping to see some reviews on it by now. Looks nice from the spec sheet. -

$200 Hkvision 4K camera and $5000 client machine to display the video.... can't wait!! Curious where you get the $5000 number from? I can easily display 4k streams on a 5 year old workstation turned into a server build with no issues. I think $5000 is way off base for what is needed to use 4k cameras. Lots of my old junky equipment handles 4k pretty easily. And with sets like the Seiki 4K 40 inch tv sets down to $300 at one point (hovering around $400 now), it makes 4K a viable solution. 2015 is turning out to be the year of 4K surveillance equipment. -

Ask them when they will be releasing some low cost 4k or 10MP+ cameras. If they could release a 4k camera on a level with their DS-2cd2032 (Swann HD-820Cam), that would be insane and amazing. We want 3840 x 2160 resolution (or higher) as soon as possible. If they could release one at a good price, they would sell like super hotcakes. -
Bash Bug AKA Shellshock Make Sure Your IP Cameras Get Patch
LittleScoobyMaster replied to TheUberOverLord's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I get stuff echoed back on my Hikvision after enabling telnet. Good to know it's safe for now. # env X="() { :;} ; echo busted" /bin/sh -c "echo stuff" stuff This is for a SWNHD-820CAM with V5.1.0 build 131202. "I’m a system admin – what can I do? Firstly, discovering if you’re at risk is trivial as it’s such an easily reproducible risk. There’s a very simple test The Register suggests which is just running this command within your shell: env X="() { :;} ; echo busted" /bin/sh -c "echo stuff" You get “busted” echo’d back out and you’ve successfully exploited the bug." -
Lowest Price 4K 30 fps surveillance cameras
LittleScoobyMaster posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Anyone know how much the lowest cost 4k surveillance cameras are that can do 30 frames per second? I see Axis is releasing one in a couple months but I think the price will be close to $999 when it launches. Are there presently any that can reach 30 fps in the <$500 range yet? GoPro Hero 4 as a 4K surveillance camera
LittleScoobyMaster posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
The GoPro Hero 4 which is due out this month can do 4k at 30 fps for under $400. Just curious if it would make a fun daytime only indoors facing outdoors through a window surveillance camera or not. Has anyone tried connecting directly to the Ambarella chip via IP address and using it with Blue Iris or GV-NVR, Xprotect, etc.? (Hero 3 Black) since the 4 isn't out for a couple more weeks. Not sure if the video stream is compatible with NVR's or not, or if the 4k stream is even accessible via an ip address. Just thought it would be fun to mess around with while we wait for the 4k 30 fps surveillance cameras to come out. Just curious. http://www.instructables.com/id/Gopro-Hero-3-Black-Edition-IP-camera/ -
Sony PS4 and Hikvision or Geovision video streams
LittleScoobyMaster posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Anyone know if it's possible to live view an IP camera on a PS4? The web browser that comes with the PS4 is very limited. It can play some video streams but not others. Curious if anyone has tried to view their surveillance cameras on a PS4 yet. If so, any luck? -
IFSEC 4K camera presentations

Anyone making it to IFSEC this week? They are supposed to be demoing the 24-30fps 4K cameras. I think Bosch was supposed to be showing one. http://www.asmag.com/rankings/article_detail.aspx?id=16994 Bosch Security Systems, Inc. DINION IP ultra 8000 MP Booth # 14051
