I will give you an opinion on IP systems. Before you purchase an IP system, make dang sure that the company has an easy and reliable access to their tech support or purchase from a dealer that understands and supports the product. You will have issues with IP and you need someone who will be able to help you to keep it running as it was designed. DO NOT PURCHASE from the "internet" unless it is as I have advised above.

I'll give you my opinion on opinions/recommendations. I no longer will. 90% of the time it ends up biting me in the butt. There are too many variables to contend with "long distance". The only way that I will recommend anything is by travelling to the specific site and working up a proposal. My "recommendation" to the DIYer is to Google the particular makes andvmodels and then look at the feedback on them.

This isn't rare to me. I have had that happen numerous times with many different camera's. Appears that the lens isn't properly matched to the sensor. Only appeared to work properly with a certain distance from the subject. This is more common to me than the it should be.

Help diagnosing CCTV system problem
aibudo replied to themagicm's topic in General Digital Discussion
If the cable that is underground is run through plastic conduit, and it's not full of water, then I'd say that the cable would probably be ok, if it once worked. But, in our area if you run "bare" cable in the "dirt", then there are underground gremlins that will actually "eat" on the cable and ruin it. -
The easiest is to just have the playschool have their internet upload speed increased.

Just a place to start. Don't know how long it's been since you reformatted your hard-drive, but if it's been a long time or never, I would start there. Be advised though that all of your recorded video to the present will be deleted. Dennis

Shadow CE-R16S disconnecting from the internet on it's own!
aibudo posted a topic in Digital Video Recorders
Shadow CE-R16S disconnecting from the internet on it's own! Has anyone had an issue with the above DVR losing remote access after a few hours of a successful internet connectivity? I have 3 of them at one site all doing the same thing. Have never had an issue with loss of remote access from any DVR that I have run across. Not using DDNS. Only the numeric WAN address of the location. I should note that previously, there were 2 Falco and 1 Avtech DVR on the system with no issues. Dennis -
URGENT help needed with Samsung SDE 4001N system

I've had problems with Verizon/Frontier Business with a similar issue as yours. Don't know if that's your issue or not, but if it is, you have to contact their tech support. In my case with one of my customers, it ended up taking two of their techs on site and one remotely to finally get the issue resolved. Too complex to explain here. -
You said that it's a H264, but that doesn't tell us anything. What is the Make and Model Number?

Design Faults in BNC connectors
aibudo replied to Numb-nuts's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
What I was referring to, wasn't where the shield goes on to the connector, but the female part of the cable connector that connects to the male connector on the equipment. -
If you're going to advertise on them, then they should be free to your customers. Wouldn't be any different than any other "promotional" gift item.

Design Faults in BNC connectors

I've had several that produce intermittent video, just because the "ground/shield" portion is just so loose when you connect it to the back of a DVR. Just never know what you're getting. -
I charge for the signs. Don't intend on making much as I get $8.00 a piece.

cctv video signal loss... help pls
aibudo replied to legendryrama's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Could be that the 12V supply that you are using just isn't up to the load. Much more current required when the IR's are turned on. -
Signage in regards to commercial advertising outside the location where you are installing or notification signs in regard to surveillance cameras are in use on the premises? There are numerous ready made signs for the latter.

Don't know about that model, but what ports did you open in the router? Possibly 80 and 1600?
-
The system appears that it may be by XM Technology (www.xiongmaitech.com) in China, but that's all I suspect.
-
Ok, if you haven't been able to access your system remotely with the numeric wan address of your location, then forget the DDNS stuff until your able remotely access via your numeric. Your numeric WAN address can be found at "http://whatismyip.com".
-
In my opinion, you're probably out of luck.

i forget my DVR H.264 Admin login password
aibudo replied to kasb's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
H264 is the compression type and not a make or model number. Don't recognize your unit by the pictures. Where or from whom did you get that thing? Contact them. At least maybe they can tell you the make and model. -
Could be two different but related things: 1: You have too many process running in the background that is using too much of your system's memory RAM 2: You are running out of Hard Drive space (the system needs some HD space, to use it as "extra" memory RAM)

Ok, I'm out of here. An improper firmware upgrade can "kill" the DVR. Won't be able to help, since you have already tried an upgrade.
-
I have never seen that DVR before. Is it dead? What does it do when you try to power it up? Why do you think you need the "flash"?
-
If you figure it out, let everybody on this forum know what you did. I'm in the business, am using Comcast internet, and even though I'm not using your make and model of DVR, have never been able to get it to work.
