I'm no expert but I just recently set my DVR up after trying to figure it out for a year how to remote view. couple of things to check. 1. Are u using internet explorer, are u typing http:// before the dyn name. 2. Does ur DVR support mobile viewing? 3. Mine had 2 ports which I had to open, one for the client software and the other for viewing over internet explorer. 4. Use canyouseeme to see if your ports are opened. 5. Last resort, on your router enable "dmz" 6. If it still doesn't work post a couple of pics on here for your DVR network screen, and also your router port forwarding screen. hope u get it sorted, pain in the arse this is lol.

Ok I got a big problem, I kind of accidentally plugged the camera to the mains (don't ask how lol) and something blew, I'm guessing its the fuse, nose it's not coming on. Any solutions??

You might have got it to work by now but anyways to get it to work with pelco, inside the camera there's 2 switches (4button switch and a 8 button switch) on the 4 button switch set switch 1,3,4 off and leave 2 on, that will set to baud rate 2400(ill come to that) and to pelco, on the 8 switch button put all the buttons to off. Now wire the camera to input 1 of your dvr. Now on your dvr ptz setting for camera 1 select "address" as 1 "baud rate as 2400 telemetry as pelco d. If your dvr has a telemetry for "VCL" choose that and set the 4 switch button to all off and I think the baud rate for that is 9600. Hope that helps

Can anyone help me set up remote viewing please, I've tried yet failed on many tries, I have attached a DVR menu, router menu, mobile phone app menu, and I have also set up a dyndns account (don't get how that fits into any of the menus other than the DVR one)

Thank you all for the replies, yes it's a sata HD, the dvr is from china, one of them which has no make or model. It doesn't recognise it at all even when I disconnect and then reconnect it, the HD is not faulty as it has done this once before with a previous HD, it stops recognising the HD after a 6-12 months of use

hi, i am using a samsung 4042 4ch dvr and someone told me to use the dedicated micros DS2 9 channel (i have one lying around) because apparently they are a lot better and you can do so much more, i would like to this as the ptz keypad will make it a lot easier to control the ptz cameras. 1)how do i connect the rs-485 cables from the camera to the unit? 2) how do i enter the ptz camera protocols and addresses for each camera, as i cant find a menu on the unit? 3) at the moment the picture comes in black and white, how do i change this to colour? would really appreciate some help. Thank you

someone else asked me this once before, but i have three of these and all of them display a blank grey screen for couple of seconds and then just show the picture like normal, no text or numbers.

hi thanks for the replay, i've tried setting the camera to peldo p (switch 2 on 1,3,4 off) and settimg the dvr also to pelco p yet it will still not ptz, i have attached some pictures if it helps i think from memory you have to wire the vcl orbitors to the r485 line on the back of the machine, to the rs485 connections in each dome then set each dome to pelco p as that runs through the older ds2's as a standard baud rate of 9600 but on the newer dm's it will run at any baud rate you want what version number does your unit say in the setup installer menu? for example my ds2a cd writer built in dm sprite 2 says version 3.1 net(dvtx) on the first menu page to shut down the unit. if this is a different version number then you may have an older machine. but on mine being the newer style machine i can tell the unit through the text setup section to setup the serial port either 123 or 4 on the back, mine has a green terminal block on the back if yours has this type of connector as well then its the newer style unit, but if it has a d type plug on swrial 1 and 2 then its the older version.

hi people, its been a while since i last posted on here but i still havent solved the problem, the problem i have now is using the ptz on the Dedicated micros DVR, I have a ds2 and using three VCL orbitors, if anyone is or has used a VCL camera with a ds2 please can you help. ive tried setting the protocol switches to all off and addresses all on, ive tried numerous addresses and protocols it still wont allow me to use ptz, i have set the DVR to use VCL protocols on each camera. pplllleeaaasssee pppllleeeeaaassseee can someone help

Thank you for the reply, so if i use a ptz controller i will be able to use the auto scan function (which is more priority than remote viewing)? im now using a samsung SHR-2042 which still wont allow me to use the auto scan.

Can any PLEASEEEEE help me with this... how do you make the auto scan work on a Honeywell vcl orbitor, I have a standalone h.264 DVR address 1 braud rate 2400 pelco D set on the DVR for one of the ptz cameras, the ptz functions works and also the presets work as well, I tried changing The baud rate to 9600 and few others but then even the presets or the normal ptz won't work. Would honestly appreciate it as it will save me a lot of money.
