If you need only one camera, then go for IP camera. If not, you may consider Cheap Analog System: Total Less U$200. Very Simple. 4 analog cameras + DVR (recording to WD1 or 960H) + HDD. Most of DVRs support remote access over smart phone, when hooked to network.

Can someone explain pc based nvr's for me??
SunnyKim replied to thetester's topic in General Digital Discussion
Thanks, Horizon!! Quite informative. But can you detail how to get the ipaddress? -
Ohhh, Tom. There are no Cameras, termed as 960H. All analog cameras can be digitized as 960H-horizontal resolution. OP wants to keep his analog cameras. Old DVRS were, in general, limited to a CIF recording. And I recommended a new DVR capable of 960H/WD1/D1 Recording.

Nope. You better buy a new 8 channel DVR, which costs a lot less than your old 4 Ch DVR, and not costing much than your new 4 Ch DVR.

Analog HD, HD-CVI, HD-TVI and IP systems
SunnyKim replied to nightrider's topic in General Digital Discussion
Thanks for detailed confirmation, Lee. Hi3521 is not powerful enough to handle 4 Ch of 1080PX30FPS. My Guess the DVR(PCB) was orginally designed for 4 Ch 720P X30 FPS. May be used for recording 4Ch X1080P X15FPS. I can agree that KY-2013 could be the same as Hi3521, a special marking service for HikVision. But I can not agree to you with The Rainbow interferences. The problem must have been known/ detected reported, first, in China of 50HZ system (PAL & Elec Power Source), so the ground loop noise issues must have been removed. It could be improved by providing wider grounds for HDD. I am still carrying Strong doubt on possible mistakes on register parameter value setting for TP-2802, assuming this chip is designed OK. Please let me go further. The parameter of 60Hz /50 Hz, Field Rate, is definitely meaningful for NTSC/PAL, selecting conventional analog cameras. There could be no meaning for 60Hz/50Hz for HD-TVI signal. If 30Hz/25Hz mode exists. I may be giving it some credits. But 30 Hz of Frame Rate seems to be the Default Mode. Whatever value you use, I do not think it would affect any results in case of HD-TVI. Finally I work for a chip design company for CCTV applications, doing softwares as well. -
Analog HD, HD-CVI, HD-TVI and IP systems
SunnyKim replied to nightrider's topic in General Digital Discussion
Lee Tracey, I am not that much suspicious on HiSilion CoDec. But rather, there must be another chip set on the board, "HD-TVI Video Decoder'' which captures and reconstructs video signal from HD-TVI camera. This provides HD Video to a backend CoDec, say, Hi3521. I think this video decoder (HD-TVI) chip set, probably from a company, "Techpoint", whose guide line on PCB routing might be wrong or the register(parameter) values of the TVI decoder chip could be set wrong. FYI, Hi3521 might not be powerful enough for HD-TVI based DVR. And Hi3535 that you commented seems to be better fit for NVR, not for DVR. Please check again. -
Help me troubleshoot home security cam system.
SunnyKim replied to racer88's topic in General Digital Discussion
If I add my 2 cents, you check that input interfaces from camera to DVR is clean and not to be loose. Swap camera input ports of the DVR. (You have two cameras still alive) The cameras seem to be all analog cameras: Plug the video output of camera into your TV (CVBS input or VCR input) whether you can see the video. If not, cameras are gone bad. Make sure the DC power should supplied to Camera whether through DC converter box or you can directly supply DC to a certain camera. -
Could you please link me to the product of 16 Ch Daihua NVR. I like to review the product. Thanks.

Analog HD, HD-CVI, HD-TVI and IP systems
SunnyKim replied to nightrider's topic in General Digital Discussion
Gold could be too much, if accepted that seriously. To me, RG59 cable must have been approved for carrying the conventional TV signal (NTSC, PAL). Please correct me if I am wrong. The TV signal can carry at most 6 Mhz. But for HD sized video, it could be well over 20 Mhz. We know that as cable length increases, it increases its capacitance value. High capacitance could destroy high frequence components. That makes difficult to decode out the video signal correctly. You may observe as the distance gets longer, they (AHD/CVI/TVI, others) start losing colors, which are placed in a higher frequency band. We just hoped and concluded that pure copper could be better. But we know most of cables are manufactured in China. For cheap cables, like CCTV usage, hard to control over its quality. Each roll of cable turns out to have different quality, in our lab testing, even though they are of the same brand or distributor. It is true some cables are better than others by Luck. But Down to Too Cheap and No Margin, nobody dares to talk about Quality or Quality Control. The ones we used for testing were cladded one. When installing these you may test your cables at your site, in advance. -
Best Cameras for a D1/4CIF based system
SunnyKim replied to k-singh's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
All the cameras(NTSC, or PAL) can be recorded as D1 or WD1 or 960H. Your DVR or your PC based capture board seem to be very old as it can only support up to CIF. If you like to keep cameras, you are to replace your currrent DVR. Check out 4Ch X 30FPS each chanel X D1 or WD1 or 960H. -
outdoor 360 degree camera
SunnyKim replied to chastings's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Some questions, please. Does the IP camera send the Compressed Bit stream for the Fish-Eye Warped Video? Or Does it de-warp into sub regions of videos, then compress each sub region, and sending those compressed streams? How many sub - regions in what resolution? Or Does it send both streams of originally warped video and sub-regions of de-warped. -
Need some good advice on new system (POE outdoor)
SunnyKim replied to wnix's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Please allow me to add. No image sensor makers develope their sensors, targeting for CCTV Video Cameras, because the market is considered very small. They are always shooting for much bigger industry (20 times larger)- cameras for smart phones. CEOs and RnDs are driven that way. CMOS sensor is cheap but well known for its sub-par performance under low lighted conditions, say at night. CCD is known to be better but dropped out because they can not compete price-wise in smart phone market -price cutting war. It is also true that CMOS sensor is improving a lot, due to severe competitions among them, as well. CMOS image sensor needs a certain physical time to accumulate electrons to a certain voltage level to be represented as pixel value. As it is used for video camera, 30 frames per second could give the time period- 33 mili second, not enough long period under low light. In low lighted, video can be very susceptible to electric noises inherent to circuit, leading to low video quality. Dropping number of frames per second could lengthen its accumulation time perid. Or increasing number of pixels (sensor cell, area) to accumulate more electrons for enough clear resolution. It seems to me that 4MP sensor might be the one that was used for 720P cameras, equivalent to 2:1, horizontally and vertically sub-sampled. Remember that premium sensor makers do not care about CCTV industry. Simply expanding number of effective pixels, say from 720P to 4MP could help some revenues for camera makers because most people could believe the more numbering could carry better resolution, when actually not. I never saw its TVL chart for 30FPS video sequences. I hope some forum members would post it. Simply increasing number of pixels would carry some drawbacks, without providng more fine details effectively. Most of Harware Chipsets have to be very limited to a certain frame rate, whether it is for IP camera side or Standalone NVR side. Even Software NVR needs to adjust its decoding parameters for recording bit streams or playing back or spot monitoring videos. The CPU for running software may prove not powerful enough. Some others may not carry the monitors enough for 4MP resolution. If limited to 2MP, 4MP sized video should be scaled down for being viewed on 1080P monitor. More HDD storage is needed. More network traffic load and increasing software -buffering for already installed cameras, more tunings, and more time latencies, if I list down further. I mean the world is not fully ready for 4MP /5MP/8MP,yet to come. All of these drawbacks should be stated before HikVision 4MP cameras are being recommended. I have no objection to HD1080P or 2MP IP cameras, because it shares the market with smart phone application. CEOs and RNDs of imag sensors are paying attentions to it. For others, I am carrying Huge Doubt. -
Survtech, I do not know why exactly. But the DVR (HD-AHD) can support analog cameras (NTSC, PAL) in a signgle chip. But HD-TVI or HD- CVI needs an additional chip set if they should support analog cameras. That's what I know. Therefore, the AHD - DVR can be made cheaper. That could be my guess.
-
I never thought the quality of HD-SDI was that good at night. Good Update.
-
Good to know, Thaking. Let me correct you in some comments of bold character above. When the AHD DVR is to be hooked up to analog cameras(NTSC, PAL), it will play as 960H DVR. But when hooked up to AHD Cameras, say 1080P, it will record and preview as 1080P. Please correct me, if I am wrong.

I like to know, as well. I do not think it does exist? Let's keep posting up. Somebody would come up with lists of the products.
-
Hi. And welcome to the forum .... You can install any type of system ...... Your ISP or Internet has nothing at all to do with it ..... You don't even need Internet (only for remote viewing ) you have a lot more options if you go IP As said, HD-TVI could be a good choice. Then buy a DVR that supports HD-TVI, for sure. Also check the DVR could support recording separately both Main Stream (1080P) and Substream(CIF or D1 or less frame rates for remote access).

Tested and Trusted Analog cameras
SunnyKim replied to benharuna's topic in General Digital Discussion
For references, almost all CCTV Camera does not support to output SECAM format, but only PAL or NTSC. Almost all SECAM TVs can show videos coming from pAL cameras. So you may not worry SECAM format. -

I would say Costco is too rich to afford counterfits. But analog cameras are too cheap to afford counterfeits. But I know you live on installing counterfeits, simply because not being too rich. -

I am getting a better translator, Boogieman. You can go get a brand new vaccum at Cosco. Just like you can get a brand new camera replaced when it dies out after 10 years hard-working. Isn't it what you said?. Sorry the analog cameras are too cheap to support Counterfeits. So Boogieman does trash all Curses on Analog cameras, simply because he lives on Counterfeits. -

SunnyKim replied to benharuna's topic in General Digital Discussion
No one said anything about 4mp. IF you would bother to look at the links you would see they are for CVI 720p and 1080p cameras. Analog cameras are no more "rugged" than cvi or tvi....as evidenced by the failure of his current cameras..stop spreading misinformation. What we do know is that the cvi cameras will be MUCH clearer and crisper. If you would read my links you would see that he can get 24, 720p cvi cameras with two dvr's for 1000US... Disclaimer, SunnyKim sells D1 low resolution junk cameras and thats why he pushes them. He also claims that I work for costco....anyone who lives in the US can understand why that is insane. As an aside, anyone who can claim that you are cheated when buying 4mp cameras is not only lying, but clearly has no understanding of the technology. Sunnykim likes to post information to make it appear as though he understands camera technology but it is evident that he has no clue. He cant even see the difference between D1 and HD 1080p...maybe he is blind, in that case im sorry. Boogieman, go get the brand new vaccum at Costco. Cameras work for 24/7/365. No TVs, Cars, Vaccums do not work like that. Hot /Warm/Cold/Rain/Strom, even in the lightening. Please do not bame cheap cameras. Still being our good neighbors. Too cheap to support Counterfeits. Thus being trashed / insulted by Boogieman. -

Budget of Less than U$1000 for 24 Cameras? Go for analog systems that supports Recording D1, not CIF. They are very rugged and your maintenance and supporting is easy. NVR or HD IP Cameras could cost you Way more than that. Do not buy 4MP cameras. You are cheated. -

Samsung has been the Number one quality for analog cameras. CnBTech has been good for analog cameras. -
moosa, AHD DVR can capture the AHD signal(HD1 or 720P) and also old conventional D1 ,say PAL camera. The wordings: CIF, D1 could be the size of recording image. No dealers are interested in dealing junks. They are as smart as you are. That's a very good price. You are being mislead by a peddler who has to promote 4MP IP Camera.
