NVR realtime preview
SunnyKim replied to Zorro's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I tried to look into " NVSS 6102 ". Not showing on Google. Probably wrong device. -
No, it seems not the problem you can solve with trial&error. Ask for help your camera maker that can generate compressed bit stream that the back end NVR can understand.
-
It is very difficult for any NVR to maintain all & complete compatibility with all kinds of IP cameras from all different manufacturers. You explain your problems to your camera maker. They have choice/options to make it compatible. But NVR has a very limited option or none.

Unplug power source of a certain camera, one by one. If working OK, then add more watts to your power supply.

TVL is a quite confusing term. It shows number of vertical lines discernible on a horizontal TV Line. In other words, TVL is directly related to the contrast along horizontal direction. Yes, 450 TVL is good for D1 resolution, in theory. The higher TVL could newer/ cheaper/advanced technology/better image processing. But You do not need to throw them away, as long as you like the quality of old cameras.

Cable over 300 ft?? Is cable messed up now from water??

Any chances of electric power running short at night? You may turn some cameras off just to test this This happens recently? -
Cable over 300 ft?? Is cable messed up now from water??

The same video scene and the same camera on the same cable. The difference comes from day & night. But No IR issue, as said. What's left? Moisture at night leaks into the damaged cable? Really no idea. -

SunnyKim replied to Treez's topic in General Digital Discussion
Most of cables are manufactured from China. I am not user or installer. But we have to buy cables on several occasions. It seems that the brand names can not be controlled or guaranteed. You better check out local dealers in your area. RG59 pure copper cable can go very long distance when compared to aluminum cladded. -

Your DVR seems to be for analog cameras. So 300 ft can not be an issue, at all, in most of DVRs. But these days some DVR makers tend to use very cheap components that may deteriorate performances over a long distance cable. Make sure to Test and Confirm your cable before real field installation. Yes, the cable could be bad or of poor quality, based on your comments. Just in case, as to night performance, google "IR refelction or read some of threads discussed in this forum. -
Please check again that the cameras pull only 180mA. Too much small, seemingly not real.

You may consider to look at PC based video capture card with analog cameras (possibly IR ). -
Based on your saying, all configurations of DVR setting are the same, the size of compressed file now depend on the video content that a camera captures, if varying bit rate is allowed or constant quantization parameter is set. The moving scene takes more number of bits for being compressed. High contrasted video or fine details takes more bits. Noisy scene at night takes more bits. Thus leading to a larger file size. Whatelse????

If not IP cameras is a must, you may also consider "stand alone DVR and decent 4 cameras" . That can be done less than U$ 250 for your application, including HDD. -

URL sites for getting RTSP stream for Axis IP Cameras
SunnyKim posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
We are developing NVR for IP Cameras. In order to check its compatibility (de-compress all the compressed bit streams from many kinds of IP cameras), we like to have possibly many kind of streaming files for our testing. Especially AXIS, Agivilon, such high brand cameras. We would appreciate if some body can provide such links so that we can access those compressed streaming files in real time. -

Not yours, but that could be publically open sites, say traffic info, or commercial sites. -
First time build could use some input

MaxIcon, As for the PC software, say Blue Iris, Milestone, etc, how much they charge per each camera as a license fee (yearly???)? -
I may go for 16 Ch DVR (anlaog WD1) + decent analog cameras.
-
With a single pc, it may not be possible to compress 32 Channels of video in software. You may have to look for Hardware-assisted(h.264) PC DVR cards. Two pieces of each 16 channel with PCI -E slot would be OK.
-
U$2,000 would be enough for 8 camera system: It could be made of Full HD IP cameras & NVR. As cable length seems not be an issue for your shop, HD-SDI or HD-TVI or HD-CVI or HD-AHD with its dedicated DVR could be OK, if you should need spot monitoring (instant display) in real time.
-
Do you think you may need cameras of 60 FPS (frame rate per second)?

Topchips, Which one is more expensive? Coaxial cable or Siamese cable or Cat5e?
