Simply because 720P is HD system and needs HD DVR, while 960H is still an analog system.
-
You may check out 960H PC Capture DVR cards. The PC based software will be provided free. Why pay more?
-
You better contact at Nextchip. They may supply cameras and dvrs with their own brand, or at least recommend you those suppliers who use their chip sets. I heard many Korean cctv makers have been developing AHD based products. And you may expect a quality tech support from them.

Please Help!! IP vs. HD-SDI or TVI
SunnyKim replied to TheHulk's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Under 2K and Home Application, you can safely go for conventional analog cameras or HD-Analog (HD-CVI or TVI or AHD) and its standalone DVRs. These HD-Analog system can be working fine, less than 100 meter, and analog cameras are OK, up to 200 meters. As long as you provide enough Lighting and setting up the camera position more carefully, you would get what you like to achieve. -
oderus1671, I can add my opinion, based on your comments. You may have seen the same artifact at the old analog TV set. In old days, most of TV chipset is based on the analog PLL. It takes some time get into synchronization to the incoming vertical sync that indicates a new video frame start, smearing from left to right at the top lines of a video frame. Nowdays, almost all video decoders - are based on digital PLL type, quick to synchronized. So not quite often to observe those artifacts, these days. It is High Time to get a new DVR and new cameras of much higher TVL number.

Graphics card for server
SunnyKim replied to woodworth's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
You are very correct. That's the way almost all the software developers/vendors are doing. -
Anyone tried these Q-see HD Analog systems yet??
SunnyKim replied to jazzgtrl4's topic in Security Cameras
Can you please explain the claim based on what? -
Thanks Tomcctv, Actually I discounted 99K. I understand their system makes a single pc for handling 4 Ch HD X 1080P decoding. That's what the Samsung has been doing here for local market. The communication and synchronization between pcs gets difficult. Lots of software /hardware overhead. Less flexible in switching a certain video channel to be displayed on a certain monitor on the fly. Reducing the number of PC can save such headaches, including a emergency back up. We do marketing locally in Korea. But I do not think they are the right guy. We do not have any contact points with Big guys. Never had chances to bring them into our demo. Thanks anyway.

That is not for Encoding. It is to de-compress the H.264 bit stream files (HD1080P X 150 CH X 30 FPS -all in real time) and to display the decoded videos on the 12 Monitors. CPU consumes less than 40% (shown on the picture attached). Nobody is ever closer to this one. I know there are someone who are claiming around HD X 16 Ch but not commercially applicable, due to its High CPU usage, leading to system un-stability. If you can bring us the Big Players who can integrate our Engine to their own NVR suits and introduce the products on to the worldwide level, you will deserve your share.
-
Orkhana, As time is unlimited, I can suggest you our solution-HD software decoding engine, capable of play-backing 150 Channels of HD 1080P X 30 FPS of H.264 encoded bit streams from IP cameras, with a single desk top PC and graphic cards, driving up to 12 monitors. Nobody has ever done this so far and never would. We would provide our engine for a single copy at U$ 1000. We used to sell it at U$ 100K, but offering this time, and one time, only at U$ 1K. We are going to give pc and cards specs for you to buy. You need to bring Pelco, or other big players, or whoever that can develop NVR software suits, interfacing our engine. We are a very tiny company of 5 engineers. So we can not make many business trips to their software integration and development sites. I am attaching a demo picture where you can see only a single PC behind a monitor in the middle.

Igano, If interested in, I can send you one of our PCI Express Card for 8 analog cameras. You may leave your address to my mailbox. -
IP cam color issues
SunnyKim replied to darkmage1991's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Absolutely not. No bandwith issues can be involved. Could be power shortage or sensor defects. -
Exporting uncompressed video from a DVR
SunnyKim replied to RustyBob's topic in Digital Video Recorders
The resolution that analog camera can provide is limited to VGA as Max. Give parameter to your dvr as Max High Resolution (Low compression rate), then access the compressed file from your PC or Laptop then decompress & display to your projector. -

You can not break it before returning it to the place where you bought. -
Getting tired of all these compatibility issues... need help
SunnyKim replied to igano's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
igano, I can send you our card for free. Does your PC have a PCI-express slot? -
Did you try to supply more electric powers.
-
Then the DVR is taking the full resolution that analog camera gives. So buy the one 700TVL above. The TVL number tells you the most recent sensors. As tech advances every day, you may try the 1000TVL above. Why not? But note that the Lens is a deciding factor for the video quality.
-
It seems to me that the article is 50% correct. That means 50% wrong. The AHD could be the best one, simply because it is most recent. But you may take 100% of comments from survtech. All of them are working hard to improve its video quality and long distance performance. We may expect good results sooner or later.
-
I asked you about Recording Frame Rate, not displaying frame rate.
-
1000 TVL or 1200TVL tells how new the image sensor is. As long as 650TVL & above, the video quality is OK for any analog cameras. Check your dvr that can support recording frame rate over 100FPS and D1 sized or 960H sized for 4 Channel analog cameras. If the recording size is CIF then the DVR must be as old as junk.
-
looserguy, If found the camera is ok, please let me know. We just developed a PCI-Express 8Ch capture card (software compression) under promotion. If interested in, please leave a mail to my PM (private mail)box in this forum.
-
looserguy, I checked out all pictures that you linked. That's pretty old model-hardware compression card, based on MPEG4. I thought those color artifacts coming from scaling down to compression and scaling up for display as there are not enough color pixels for interpolation. That's why I asked you to plug the camera output directly to a TV set, as the original D1 size of being captured, not scaling involved. Simply bring another camera as well when you go to the place. The camera's probably gotten aged to retire.
-
Can you go to your place and plug the camera output into a TV set? This is for identifying who's fault, camera or the card. Can you take picture of your DVR PC capture card and post it? I like to know the manufacturer of chipsets on the boards. Judging from the video clip, I guess the card is pretty old type.
-
Do you mean that your D1 sized video can be displayed without those color artifacts at the edges?

NVR Stand alone does not detect camera
SunnyKim replied to guesswho's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
To keep your Acti cameras, return ENR and get Acti's new-recent NVR, if I am in your shoes.
