confused - sending a DVI signal from on place to another
SunnyKim replied to Lindopski's topic in General Digital Discussion
hmm -
Cyannide, You are correct. TVL applies for analog camera, not for HD kinds of IP Camera. TVL is for the Horizontal pixel resolution, not for vertical line resolution, which is quite misleading. The new WD1 is wider than the conventional D1 size. But as image processing tech keeps on improving, the newer is the better, I can say.

I need help finding a driver for TECHWELL TW 2804
SunnyKim replied to PCXDREAM's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
TW2804 has no relations to any device driver for the board. The chip that carries PCI bus controller, from A-logic, is responsible for the device. But A-Logic closed down more than 6 years ago. So 64 bit support may not be possible. But you keep posting. You may come across the guys who are using the same card. -
Dear Msecure, Is HD-CVI for 720P (1.3 MP) that can run 50 meter on a good copper cable? Can you please confirm?
-
All new DVR models are carrying the features that you like to have. Pick one at Sam's, Costco's, whatever. You need to buy HDD for recording. Then ask for help from the guy who have installed the system, a couple of times.

Effio is image signal processor for Sony. May not be guilty. Something might go wrong with its camera makers.
-
HD-CVI can not be used for a long distance over 50 Meter, if not for pure copper cable. But they keep claiming "upto 500 meter", in spite of the fact losing some colors. Some seem to cheat on others. We better wait for the technology getting matured, in my opinion.

Hazim, Can I ask where is the business located at?

Hikvision Fisheye camera: Postponed until further notice
SunnyKim replied to milkisbad's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Dear Milkisbad, Thanks for your feedback. As we know, the sensor that captures scene is limited in terms of number of pixel (picture element), say 5MP. If the scene can be geometrically corrected and compensated, each part of the scene content may be limited in effective number of valid pixels, say 1 MP. Can this fact be acceptable in the fields or by end-users? -
Steve, most of HD-SDI cameras can output HD-SDI signal, and CVBS signal (conventional TV signal format), though not 100% sure. So, for your TV viewing, use its CVBS output. Or for the HD-SDI output, use DVR for HD-SDI. But you must have a memory card, say SD card, for storing the compressed video data. Mostly they use h.264 compression standard. You may plug the card into your PC and you can see the video, playing from the video file.

Hikvision Fisheye camera: Postponed until further notice
SunnyKim replied to milkisbad's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Dear all, Please let me have your opinions about the market of Fisheye lens. Does it find quite useful applications? Could you please name them if you know of? Any expectations that the market of fish eye cameras would grow? What is the size of video images? The reason I am asking this question is that we may consider to have this feature embedded into our chip set that we are currently designing. -
Getting tired of all these compatibility issues... need help
SunnyKim replied to igano's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Nope, Igano. You are still confused. 960H video size (960 H X 576LinesX25Hz), that has been driven by Sony for competing against CMOS based HD Mega Pixel. It is nothing to do with H.264 video data compression standard, which is also new standard. Your PC had no chance to test these cards, or vice versa. What I learned that AMD+ nVidia mother board creates lots problem. I do not why they keep selling on the market, because the Model is too old. -

SunnyKim replied to igano's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Igano, I think you are confused. H.264 is an international standard employed for video data compression. The trouble seems to be caused by the device driver provided by nVidia Controller Chip. They seem not to be tested enough for the devices to be plugged into PC's PCI slot. That's why I said maybe new PCI_E card would be tested and would be OK. -
Going beyond 420tvl through remote viewing? Is it worth?
SunnyKim replied to raptown's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Remote viewing limits the size of video and its frame rate per second. Mostly to CIF sizes. But 800 TVL would give a better video quality, for D1 size, the regular size, just because it carries in a more advanced image processing. So, it is all up to you. -
NVR for analog and IP-cams?
SunnyKim replied to Karen1992's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hybrid DVR can be an answer if you like to re-use the old analog cameras. But 4 Ch NVR can be your option, replacing the analog cameras. -
No way you can tell it is 480 TVL or 700TVL. But you can notice its video quality with more details on the video, as 700TVL is relatively newer and likely to carry more advanced image processing techs. But always remember quality of lens absolutely rules over the video quality. As you are using a usb grabber, the max resolution can be 720X 576X 25 FPS for one channel or CIF (352X288X25 FPS) for 4 Channel.

Going beyond 420tvl through remote viewing? Is it worth?
SunnyKim replied to raptown's topic in Digital Video Recorders
800 TVL camera is analog camera, which has become much cheaper and much better quality with advanced image processing tech. Old 480 TVL can not be matched. Your DVR must have been set up for D1 sized recording or CIF sized recording which is fixed with the limited processing power of the CoDec chip in your DVR. Remote viewing can not offer higher resolution than live previewing video's. I believe remote viewing was to be set up as CIF sized and less frame rate, in order to pass through the Network, which in general offers very small bandwidth. So remote viewing can not carry the high quality video. Check out the manual of your DVR whether you can remote view the video as good as being recorded. That's the Max you can have. -
Who makes who in the world of IP cameras?
SunnyKim replied to bayareawireguy's topic in Security Cameras
Nope. Even Hikvision buys the cameras from their OEM manufacturers. So not easy to tell who is who. -
Getting tired of all these compatibility issues... need help
SunnyKim replied to igano's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
It really beats me. We do not tell why. But the Controller chip(N68) from nVidia provides a wrong initialization procedure when booting up and identifying our card. If you have PCI_Express slot, try with a new video capture card with PCI Express Interface. They may have fully tested with PCI Express Interface because PCI_E is relatively new interface. -

SunnyKim replied to igano's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
MVXXX is not our chip. Our chip has UQ2288/or UQ2238 name on it. Ours has the same trouble with such AMD CPU + N68 PC Mother board. The problem is associated with the device driver of nVidia's controller chipset, as far as we understand. We asked PC Mother Board Maker, Gigabyte to clear this problem. So far we received any positive progress, at all. You may change your PC or give up the project, because Mother Board Makers do not listen to PC Capture card maker but may listen to the customer like you. -

Adding my 2 cents, turn off 3D-NR (noise reduction) at night, if the feature is ON. -

Igano, One more question, can you please inform me of name of the chip set on your PCI card from Macro-Video, to whom we have supplied our chip set. -
Picture flickers with HD SDI system
SunnyKim replied to Dust_man_99's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
HD-SDI operates on a very high clock speed around 2 Ghz. Very vulnerable to cable conditions. Please make sure of tight coupling all along the input path, not to be loose in connections. Can you state how long the cable is. I mean how far from the camera? -

Dear Igano Could you please inform me of the Chipset-name and number on your PC board? The reason is that could be the chip that we designed. -
Looking for card suggestions
SunnyKim replied to hiigaran's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hiigaran, You did not answer my questions in my previous threads. Please read and get back to me. The video cards that you picked up now needs the PC's software to compress the video data that was being captured and delivered to PC's system memory over PCI Bus. I do not know exactly those iSpy and Zoneminders. But they seem to be software decoders, which decompress the compressed bit stream from IP camera or HDD (already compressed). It seems to me that you are on the wrong side.
