teckwell tw2804 software/driver

CMA, I guess the PCI controller chip maker -ALogic who might have provided the Window device driver. But ALogic is gone years ago. -
Night colour problem
SunnyKim replied to HiddenMountain's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi HM, Firstly, Check power supply in the night is good enough. In the low lighted condition, the image sensor of a camera can not press enough its inherent electronic noises, resulting in white grainy pixels flying around. 3D Noise Reduction can improve it. Or provide enough lights. Or LED / IR featured cameras can be your option to go for. -
No idea on how VMS software is structured. But it is very true that IP cams can carry video loss information in the header of its compressed bit stream, as soon as video loss has been quickly detected. So you may consult with your solution provider.
-
Max, You can check with some professionals -compression. I frame decoding may be faster than P frame decoding because no other reference video are needed when decoding.
-
Kiloohms, If receiving side can parse the compress bit stream header, say HAL, the video loss can be detected and informed, earlier. Some may provide or some others may not depending on who they are, say text message for your phone. It all means Cost that you have to pay. And that's one of the disadvantages of the IP camera system in nature. But you do not worry about, as its recording has been made till the last frame of video loss.
-
T95, If it is from PC, your PC CPU performance is not enough for decoding & displaying the compressed bit stream. The same can be said of standalone, NVR. Its hardware performance is not good enough as it claims. I started to notice This industry over-states too much as the pricing rules out.

what is the exact meaning -HD-SDI CVBS(1Vp-p,75ohm)
SunnyKim replied to chris_0008's topic in Security Cameras
It is not IP Camera, nor the conventional analog camera. It outputs HD 1080 sized video over a good conditioned cable. You can preview live incoming HD sized video. It also outputs conventional analog TV signal (CVBS) as well, which can be used for testing camera or can be used in case HD-SDI transmission has turned out to be so bad. -
Help to choose cameras with resolution of 960H
SunnyKim replied to raptor's topic in Security Cameras
Cougar, TVL does not mean number of lines of a video frame. For analog, the line number (Height of a video frame) is limited to 480 active video lines (NTSC 30Hz Frame Rate) or 576 active video lines (PAL 25 Hz Frame Rate). TVL means horizontal resolution of a sensor, sounding a bit weird. They can say actually no limits for the horizontal resolution (the number of pixels in Width). The larger number of TVL also mean newer sensor and newer image signal processor, which lead to better improved video quality, in most cases. But note that the Lens brings out the Max quality that the sensor and image signal processor can offer. -
Picarescue, I guess it can be done theoretically. You can ask for Tibet, in Korea. Probably, they would provide you an excel file of English word list for menu script, asking you translate in Hebrew. Tibet would load it to their firmware.

GM, I did read your PM but could not figure out how to reply within the mail box provided. So replying this way. As the camera uses EFFIO chip for TVL700, the product is only 2~3 years, which is very new and high end analog camera. Therefore, it must be of very good quality but rather low priced. Good lens brings the camera to the max quality it can offer. Basic DVRs are for 4 Channels, by default. So you may add 2 more cameras, later on. I do not think it is a bad deal. You may need cables and some accessaries for bridging cables or connecting video cable to the DVR box, if necessary. It must be a good project. Pain pays Gain.
-
GM, You can search for a package deal at a large electronic store. The package may carry 4 X 960H Cameras and one DVR. You may add up HDD. The support and warranty would be OK. 960H camera and DVRs are recently coming out. So the video quality would be advanced enough for your application.

CMA, TW2804 is not designed for PC application. The card did use it for their PCI Card. So the card maker should be responsible, who is now gone. You may search at ebay "video capture card DVR". There are many, but I better recommend a Korean product.
-
One Correction for misleading You can not find issues from any voltage drop when using around less than 1 KM. The issue is associated with capacitance effect that distorts the pure clean signal from camera. You may conclude that the cable is so bad and cheap, No Shields.
-
TW2804 does not provide any device driver for PCI card. The card manufactuer is supposed to provide it, but seems out of business. You can google the drivers or somebody has its driver. Or buy a new PCI or PCI_E card.
-
Varascope, HDCVI is designed for competing against HD_SDI. We know that HD_SDI carries in nature weakness in that it can not send HD (large amount of video data) video signal over long distance. HD CVI, owned by Daihua, though not perfect, losing some resolution, claims that it can carry much longer than HD-SDI.
-
I agree mostly to varascope. As to PC -card, if you are lucky, you can get the Device Driver from the chip supplier. Then you can create your own value added features. That's not possible from standalone DVR and PC card suppliers, because they do not like any prospective competitors growing out there.

I need help finding a driver for TECHWELL TW 2804
SunnyKim replied to PCXDREAM's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
TW2804 is simple chip, not related to any Window Drivers. Windows Driver is to be provided from the card manufacture. No way to get anything from Techwell (now Intersil) -
Google "port forwarding wiki" for start. There have been many threads in this forum, for your questions. You can read, understand, and try. Then come back.
-
Almost all the chip suppliers are gone, as they can not compete cheap stand alone DVRs. Most of cards will be gone as well, except one or two. Ebay offers some new PCI cards, supporting remote views on your browser or smart phones.

Budget 1 camera cctv system
SunnyKim replied to newguyontheblock11's topic in General Digital Discussion
costwise, buy a 4 channel DVR, standalone or PC card. Then plug only one camera. Then done. -
Where to get quality 960-1200 TVL analog bullet/lipstick cam
SunnyKim replied to Brent1971's topic in General Digital Discussion
When we say the CCTV camera is analog, we mean the Video Image is to be transferred in the form of analog TV signal. Max bandwidth allowed in analog TV signal is about 3 Mhz, theoretically. The TV signal is fixed by the number of vertical lines(480 active lines for NTSC, and 576 active lines for PAL). The number of horizontal pixels can be also limited by "TVL", as shown on the brochure's of CCTV camera. As long as TVL is higher, the chip sets are newer and more advanced in image processing, so the quality will be better, we presume. When we say Mega Pixel, it means Video Image is transferred in the different form, say IP (compressed) or HD-SDI (uncompressed). -
card ...what model?
SunnyKim replied to topdefence's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
BT stands for "BrookTree" that were acquired by Conexant 1996. So almost 15 years or so. Conexant uses CX-XX878, closing its operation 2013. Yes, PC card using PCI_E has been around around 7 years. -
Looking for 360deg 5MP IP-Camera w/ onboard image correction
SunnyKim replied to BrownChiLD's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Agree more than 100% -
Search Fisheye threads in this CCTV forum. And also google Fisheye image. You Fisheye warps up the video scenes more than wide angle camera. You may find the solution, at least a clue to it. If you can not find the exact match to your application, you have to develop your own. Yes, you are correct. Panotools -lens correction- is the free software that you can start with for your own development. I did it my own one.

Help/Advice with new CCTV sytem Please!
SunnyKim replied to hiwatt's topic in General Digital Discussion
Get her new DVR, based on H.264, which has USB back up capability. The Capacity of CD is limited to 600 MByte. Most of USB sticks are capable of Min 2 G Bytes and cheaper. Antique costs a lot more, as you know. By the way, unless it is stated as LossLess, any of compression methods becomes lossy in nature, say MPEG/JPEG/H264, and even including JPEG2000.
