    records at night

Dear all, In case of low lights or nights, image sensors become quite prone to such a random noises. Therefore, the sequences of videos will be treated as different video scenes each other, in mathematical sense, triggering false motion detect. Specially color video will be more affected by such a random noises. In fact, those videos would lead to a larger recording file size for storing into HDD. So a DVR with Night Detection mode could save you from such a false motion detection. Also you can try No Color (Luma only Y only) mode at night. Also, you can try to raise level of motion detection threshold, if you can. Also, you can try on 3D Noise Reduction at night. Most of 3D NR would not be enabled in most DVR or cameras because of the blurring artifacts during daytime.
  2. victorianti, We all do not like to see this precious site to be contaminated with floods of advertisements. That may explain why we do not link the exact items. As to DVR, all the chip sets are the same if you open the DVR box. Therefore, it all depends on tech support you can get from. You may not be able to get help from big brands. If I am in your shoes, I will try to search for the products from small or midsized, Korean or Taiwan companies, who are still actively moving forwards.
  3. In the DVR box, there should be an analog video decoder chip for analog camera and HD-SDI receiver chipset for HD camera. They are completely different chipsets. So we better switch your DVR box to Hybrid DVR box, or better buy an other HD-SDI camera replacing your analog camera.

Setting Up DVR for remote viewing

baboo126. Both routers should be portforwarded.
  5. victoriant, I can agree to Tomcctv in that the model seems to be old. Such a odd number of frames for DVR can be explained in that the CoDec engine(chip) was not powerful enough to compress all 8 channels as 30 FPS each. And more channels gets more prices from the market even with such a low grade codec engine. Also uneven number of recording frames per each channel could easily present problems at the time of playing back recorded frame as these frames are unsynchronized, without good firmware supported. Less frame rates (7~ 30) seems OK for your application, but buy new DVR models if you can, as the DVR prices have fallen down too much, well in your budget.

CCTV Dvr - HDMI vs VGA output?

victorianti, Yes right. No differences. Why? We have been using VGA type connection for monitor connection for long time. No complaints on the graphic /video viewing quality of PC monitor.

Need help with long run between camera and DVR

The video signal from an analog camera can be severely distorted when transmitted over long and low graded cable. Therefore you may go for IP camera.
