Well, I have a ESC-DVR1604HF-U-E and I have been able to get some firmware for that system, but it appears that Dahua makes each firmware unique per vendor from what I am being told. Well my vendor, Empire Security Systems, no longer sells Dahau. So how do I upgrade my $1000 DVR? Pissed at the Vendor and Dahau.

Does it have a version number? I would be interested in having a look at it.

I got one from Empire but I never tried to flash it yet, it doesnt have any version info in it. I have put it here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B54CqG7QWhcXfnR5eUNYbGYySXREV0U4dTBIbUJXXzFKVjZhaG1ueHVvbGtCbFpoS2I3VWM&usp=sharing

Empire does not have unique firmware .... Price was a bit high Is there a reason to change firmware ... Do you have a problem I was having issues connecting IP cameras to the system. It kept freezing up. I just started playing with settings on the box and dropped the buffer from 280ms to 200ms and it seems to be working now. This whole process has pissed me off. I like to keep my firmwares up to date due to security holes and features. I got the firmware from another vendor but it wouldn't flash. It is General_DVRxx04HF-X-E_Eng_N_Onvif_V2.608.0000.0.T.20120730 version that works that I got from empire.

I can't for the life of me find one of these cards to add to my system. Any dealers here have a Kodicom KIO-1616 relay card for sale? I want to connect my DVR system to my home automation system.

I am having trouble with some "cheap" outdoor camers that only seem to have problems in bright sunlight. http://www.mattman.com/cams.htm That is what it looks like. Here is the camera that I am using: http://www.q-see.com/newwebsite-design%201/cmos-cam/qsocwc.html

What is the overal difference between a 1/4" 480 and a 1/3" 480?
-
Those are not the correct answers. I want a different "cheaper" answer OK, seriously, now what do I need, that wont break the bank?

Thx. Nice forum with good info.

Nevermind. I am an idiot. The port for remote admin on my router was the same as the DVR. ARgggggghhhh

Man, this is driving me batty. I can not for the life of me connect to my Diginet thru the internet. I can connect locally just fine. I get to activex installed and the login screen. When enter sitecode and password it takes it and then it gives me Network - Fail. Also when I try diginet center to connect remotely via the internet it gets to 31/180 and then I get Incorrect private NO vs Site code. Disconnection I have set up all of the port forwards on my router etc. This is driving me batty. I even went as far as to DMZ my DVR for a bit. I have checked the passwords and site codes. I have changed them in trying to get it to work.
